"What I'm Selling on eBay" - member auctions

I'm selling a great pair of black Alden for Brooks Brothers tassel loafers in size 11D. These are factory seconds, but as is the case with most seconds, I cannot personally tell what is wrong with them, other than perhaps some creasing that was on the shoes when I picked them up some years ago...

"What I'm Selling on eBay" - member auctions

For anyone who is looking for an affordable and understated dress watch, I am selling my Stowa Antea Creme "Museum Edition" Automatic wristwatch. As per the description in the listing, this guy simply doesn't get enough wrist time to warrant me keeping it any longer...

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

I have actually found myself favoring watches without a date complication as well. The JLC ultra thin that I am currently contemplating doesn't have one, and the overall look of the dial is just cleaner. I don't even bother setting the date on most of my other watches nowadays.

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

Thought I'd post a shot of my Stowa Antea for posterity. Purchased in '07 I believe, but looking to sell soon to make room for a JLC ultra thin. This is the Antea Creme model with an ETA movement, creme dial and black hands. I remember waiting something like 8 weeks to actually receive the watch...

    Cars We Drive!

Zero experience w/ AAA, but I do know a fair number of people who have shopped w/ Amex pricing for these very reasons. You simply visit Amex' car site, equip a car, and they'll hook you up with a dealership that is willing to sell said car at a modest pre-negotiated markup over invoice. You...

    Cars We Drive!

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking at the CPO route mainly as a starting point. I also know full well what number crunching is going to tell me: stick w/ the Acura. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I think the irrational, you only live once, take 35mph curvy highway off-ramps at much higher...

    Cars We Drive!

This may be one of my favorite threads on the interwebz, and because of that, I'm going to throw out the following situation to see what some of you guys think: In Dec. 2009, during the economic sht storm, I got a great deal on a 2010 BMW 328xi, basically fully loaded (no sport package...

Creatine Absorption - How Do You Guys Maximize Yours?

Admittedly, I suppose an equally appropriate thread title would be "How Does One Minimize the Creatine Shts?" Like a good number of folks on these forums, I workout regularly and use supplements to augment my diet (mostly protein), but recently decided to give creatine a shot. I've done a bunch...

What are You Drinking for Thanksgiving 2009?

The Zin and the Beaujolais Nouveau. Drank the Shiraz yesterday (pass) From Sherry-Lehmann, I take it? One of my favorite wine shops in the city. I did some damage there myself this past Weds. Picked up a bottle of the Nouveau, along with several bottles of non-Duboeuf Beaujolais, Chinon...

Most drinkable cheap booze in your opinion?

I'll tack on the following two to the list: - Famous Grouse scotch. I see a handle of this stuff go for $25 regularly, and always keep one around at my place. I have a couple dozen bottles of scotch, and enjoy this one as much as many others. Great value imho. Not extremely cheap, but cheaper...

    Cadillac

Speaking of Mercedes in a Cadillac thread, has anyone noticed a similarity in design and profile lines between the new E-Class and the CTS? Funny, I took both out for a test drive this past weekend and noticed the same thing from a side profile. I know a lot of people love the CTS (which is...

What is The Best Face Wash for Men?

I've found the MenScience wash to be pretty adept at keeping my skin smooth thanks to the BHAs and AHAs in it. I also like the aforementioned Kiehl's and AL Glycolic washes, along with the California North gel wash.

    Best books on healthy eating?

I'll save you 200 pages and $24.95. Eat Unprocessed. Yup. Almost everything out there will boil down to whole grains, lean proteins, healthy fats, lots of fruits and veggies, and everything else in moderation. Having said that, this sports nutrition book is pretty popular with athletes and...

    Removing chest pocket from shirt

I wonder what fabric types everyone is having the most success with. If I recall correctly, there was a thread not too long ago that cautioned against removing pockets on Brooks Brothers' non-iron shirts as the treated fabric made it nearly impossible to remove the outline of the pocket...

5K to buy a watch - what to get?!!

I share your opinion on Panerai, unfortunately. They seem to be the 'must have' watch for every douchy 2nd year IB associate. Are they still using just ETA movements for most of their models? Funny - I've noticed this trend as well. I'm roughly in the same boat as the OP and looking to make a...
