Thanks a lot of the advice everyone! I think I am going to go for a heavier, more textured jacketing. I have been looking mostly at flannel, because that is what I would normally use, but maybe what I want is a “town tweed”.

Yeah I’ve been checking Anglo, their new fabric collection will be out in a few weeks. This photo of Jake is very similar to the look I want to achieve:

So I am thinking about fabric for a sports coat. The idea is dark brown with a subtle pattern, and I found this fabric: https://drapersitaly.it/de-en/collection/70107/ Any opinions on if this would be a good fabric, or will it look like half a suit? I always find picking the fabric to be the...

Kind of sad to see the last Vass shoes go for 45% off. Such beautiful shoes. I always wanted a pair of these, but I have never been able to buy them anywhere. https://nomanwalksalone.com/products/bordeaux-alt-wien-derby-998

Thank you for the advice. I will admit that I am a bit biased against tweeds (I’m not intro the English country look as a rule), but maybe I should be more open minded.

I would never have a jacket made from a swatch I hadn’t seen. This is more for scouting what I might be interested in. I am very particular about cloths, and this is a bit more challenging to get right than a navy hopsack.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I think the posters here are the best equipped to help. I plan on commissioning a sport coat in a few months and I am currently looking for an appropriate fabric (specifically a cold, dark brown flannel with some kind of faint pattern). Can someone...

    The Official Stoffa Thread

Stoffa suits are not classic tailoring. It’s a different vibe. Personally I love it but I have no idea where I would wear it. To delicate for my free time, to casual for work.

Thank you, that is a good suggestion but not quite what I am looking for. I went digging through women’s scarves, and found one that was pretty close to what I am looking for:

Who makes nice silk scarves? I want something to wear around my neck this spring, but I am having a difficult time finding anything good. I am not looking for the typical patterned Italian scarf, but rather something more minimalist. I am located in Europe.

This saddens me. The light brown suit is the perfect summer suit imo. Would have bought it and worn it with a white linen shirt or beige polo or tee, if I lived somewhere where summer suits were a thing.

    Sartoria Corcos Consolidated Thread

His work is very beutiful, although I sometimes think he maybe exagerates the shoulders and chest just a tad for my taste (just a personal preference, some people look incredible in that style). What really sticks out to me is that his cloth selections are really nice. Whenever I see a jacket by...

Discussions about the fashion industry thread

I doubt they are in trouble, based on what little I could see of their financials. Still, I wonder why they need to issue equity in this particular way. There is a lot of soft small business funding available in the EU. This just seems a bit odd, like Greg mentioned above.

I find it a bit confusing when people complain about free shipping taking time when there is a paid express option. Everything costs money; there is no free lunch. You are paying some share of every expense for the companies you do business with whether you realize it or not. The only question...

I would just like to add another point to the discussion, and that is that people who seldomly return things (like me, because I angst over every purchase for an absurd amount of time) subsidize the people who have made a lifestyle of ordering and returning. Therefore I would much prefer more...

I cannot fathom why anyone would need more than 14 days to return something. Seems reasonable to shorten it to that. Paying for returns on day 14-30 seems very fair.
