I loved the idea of the University when it came out. The reality was that I couldn't get them, or Cornwallises, to work for me in any size. I REALLY wanted a red pair of Cornwallises to work, but they just couldn't. Those things were RED too, not oxblood. Oh well.- frosejr

Some conversation last week about these, sorry it’s taken me a few days to get mine out. I bought these on the Bay from the original owner. He got them as seconds from an outlet in... Florida? I think? Said he didn’t wear them much. Duh. Who does? ? They’re 12D, which isn’t perfect for me... but...- frosejr

Wore the new Hopkinsons for about and hour yesterday, so I thought I’d bring em back today. Not a huge fan of the creases across the caps. The right one is right along that divot in the pic I posted yesterday. The shoes fit well, so it’s not that.- frosejr

Footbed is the same, although a pair of Bartletts I bought from dabondo1 on ebay a long time ago was noticeably better. Perhaps the company decided a long time ago, "we're phasing these out, let's just get them out the door however we have to, with whatever we have." The lining is much better...- frosejr

Aaaaand... here they are! A couple of things struck me: 1) I’m reminded why I’m not a Park Ave fan. Not much going on here, design-wise. 2) I can see why AE is phasing these out. While the leather inside and outside on the shoe appears to be higher quality than the main line, the craftsmanship...- frosejr

I am not a fan. I like Rochester trees a lot better, because their sizing is more consistent, and they have a fuller, rounder heel. I have a couple pairs that I had AE trees in for a long time, that now appear elongated in the heel/ankle opening.- frosejr
