    I’m not sure this is a Drake’s jacket, at least an off the peg one. It’s got a patch pocket on the breast and appears to be missing the ‘trademark’ ticket pocket on the right hand side. Compare and contrast with the jacket that Wim posted above.

    I’ve had the ecru heavy gauge roll neck on my watchlist for a while. It vanished from the main website a week or so ago which made me think it had sold out and so I wrote it off. Happily it has turned up in the Archive Sale and in my size, so I’ve picked it up.

    As an Englishman I agree. If someone used the term oriental today it would be jarring and mildly offensive. As you say, not as much as other racial slurs, but still not commonly-acceptable or neutral language.

    I have various Drake’s shirts in Oxford cloth, flannel, needlecord, linen and madras — all size 15.5 — and they don’t all fit the same. The differences are seemingly random. It might be they were from different seasons.

    I have the traveler jacket. I don’t wear it very much. I think that’s in part because it’s a size too big for me, but also it just doesn’t seem to work with jeans or chinos (it seems too formal to pair with them).

    Is there any difference between these two pairs of Avignons? The sole stitching looks different in the photographs but I’m not sure whether Paraboot makes one version with contrast stitching and one without, or if it’s just (for example) the lighting...

    There’s some Drake’s stuff for sale at Doherty, Evans and Stott in Manchester including on their website. That includes suede chore coats for under £900 iirc.
