Banana Republic slim-fit dress shirts vs Brooks Brothers extra-slim fit dress shirts
Right now BB does not carry the extra slim fits in non-iron fabrics, which does make a difference from some of the BR shirts. I recently spoke to a sales associate at BB who said that the extra slim fit non-iron line will (hopefully) debut this fall, however.- jason.wu.05.09

BBBF suit... useful or not?
Depends. If you're wearing a BBBF in a reasonable fashion (i.e. not like TB himself wears suits), then yes. If you size up in BBBF and hem the pants to a normal break, then it is just a well-made, slim-fitting suit. Of course, in that case, you are arguably missing the point of Thom Browne. If you had up to $400 to improve your wardrobe
Depends on how much time you have to decide. If you have the luxury of waiting, great sport coats can be acquired for $200-300 here on SF -- I'd say something basic in navy. That + a pair of gray wool trousers that fit well would likely hit the $400 mark. And those two items alone will make you...- jason.wu.05.09

I can't imagine Hickey is too popular of a brand on SF, but I was wondering if anyone could speak on their suits' fit v. suits from RLBL or Hugo Red. BB GF Slim Fit Performance Polo Fit?
Hey, I think I'm very similar. I have a bunch of RL custom and regular fit in medium -- custom's definitely a bit short and tight in the arms, while the regular fit's a bit baggy but alright. If you're going to wear brown shoes with a navy suit, just how dark should your shoes be? Across the spectrum of AE's, for instance, there's Walnut, Saddle Brown, Brown and then Dark Brown. Mismatch Blazer and Pants?
Pairing pants with a blazer, you should go with a contrasting rather than a matching shade. So with a black blazer, maybe a light gray pant would work best. Something that looks black/dark navy may not go all that well with a black blazer.- jason.wu.05.09
