I'm sure you can find some law school which will accept you w/ a low GPA. You don't want to waste your life by making $35k a year. Go for it! Forget about the debt, you'll make that up in no time once you start working for a big firm.- Alan B.

How are Cole Haan shoes?
Vintage Cole Haans are my favorite shoe. You can still find some on eBay. Just be sure that they are stamped "Made in USA." Their old Bragano line from Italy was also superb, especially if you like low vamps. As everyone else has said, stay away from the current stuff.- Alan B.

Vintage Frames Company, have you heard of them?
When it comes to vintage frames, you can't beat the selection and prices on eBay. You can find 10k and 14k frames for under $300. Not gold-filled or base metal. Much better prices and selection than from a dealer.- Alan B.

You can wear one general purpose watch. I find Rolex to be an excellent choice due to its ruggedness and classic styling for most models. I've worn my GMT Master almost daily since 1982. Yes, 1982 and it keeps great time w/ regular servicing. Up your budget to 5k and some good choices are...- Alan B.

For something decent, I'd add about $700 to your budget and get the entry level Rolex Air King at a place like Alan Furman. The Air King is one of my favorites despite its low status on the Rolex totem pole. Forget Omega. It's a watch with an inferiority complex.- Alan B.

College Grad - Business Casual Shoe Advice
Your collection that have you have now is fine if you don't want to stand out. Casual does not equate with cheapness. If you want to make a strong, positive impression with clients, I'd invest in a few pair of Crockett & Jones or other brand with similar quality. These shoes stand well...- Alan B.

Spending $1000 on 2 pairs of shoes
E and Aldens are too pedestrian for anyone with good taste. Those brands used to be good about ten years ago, but no longer. Haven't you seen the thread on Alden's poorly aligned lacing? AE uses a cheaper leather resulting in a lot of factory seconds. Do yourself a favor and buy one good pair...- Alan B.
