I got tickets via a service. There’s quite a fee compared to getting it directly from the ball office. I know that TC and Opernball are white tie. Which is the 3rd?

What stereo(s) do you listen to? What do you want?

I have to say that OMA designs look really cool. Never heard any of their stuff but they look like modern art that happen to play music.

Plan this year is for the Operaball but trying to get tickets via a service. Hopefully it works out. Next year we will have to put in for tickets much earlier. I think they sell out by the summer

I’ve been to the officers ball once. I recall there was a lot of marching and the British army are still the redcoats. A friend brought me along with the general from the base in Stuttgart. Are you asking for a laundry service in vienna? I once used a laundry service in Landstrasse but it took...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

I go with vents on my tuxes because I use the trouser pockets. Feels better to me this way than ventless.

FYI Triplo wears hot. Even regular broad cloth wears a little cooler. BTW I just submitted some Triplo I had laying around from about 10 years ago and the new Triplo doesn’t have as nice a hand.

They said my shirts were in too poor a condition to recollar. To be fair, they were beat up. But that’s why I wanted them to be repaired.

I did the Demi measure years ago. 1) the experience of looking at the bolts of cloth is cool. 2) The collars are a bit small for my liking. 3) whatever they do to stitch the buttons are incredible. I’ve hand many buttons from other makers fall off but theirs are tight 4) They are fussy about...

I like Holland and Sherry Crispaire for this purpose. Open weave but smoother than Minnis Fresco.

These jackets are 2 button right? My thinking is that CdL doesn’t really do the 3 roll 2 jackets right? I’m putting in a new order and I think I’ll stick with the regular 2 button.

I got mine from Ww Chan maybe around 12-15 years ago. British warm from a heavy Minnis cloth. Just had it relined. Still looks great.

Are you sure it’s been two years? I thought it was 3 years. The last in 2020 right? I was at Philharmoic and TC ball last month.

It didn’t see to be a problem for Fran Lebowitz. In this interview she said she had tortoise shell frames that cost as much as a car. So probably Maison bonnet tortoise shell. https://www.elle.com/fashion/personal-style/interviews/a27447/fran-lebowitz-style-interview/

I recall I had a fitting and delivery from Maison Bonnet the same day. But mine are acetate not tortoise. I also returned to get new lenses and that took 2-3 days.
