I have noticed a dark, purplish splodge on my C&J Westbournes which I suspect to be red wine. The shoes were lightish brown but, even though I've been using burgundy polish on them for a while, the mark is dark enough to be very noticeable. Is this going to getting the shoes dyed a darker...- Oleg

Traveling from Aberdeen to Northampton, UK
In Edinburgh, Walker Slater in Victoria Street (old town) is definitely worth a swatch. Always drop by when I'm 'back hame'. The Aberdeen fans might dispute it, given their League and European success in the 80s, but Hearts have historically been third in terms of support, wealth, etc. Hibs were invincible in the 50s but have largely been gash since.- Oleg

Everton aside, I doubt that very very much. Top three's settled already, Spurs, Arsenal and Everton for fourth. Some of the teams you mention will be battling for Europa places but if that includes Swansea then Laudrup can have any job in football he wants. For the few of you who might...- Oleg

By your criteria, Forest and Villa trump Derby and they can throw European Cups into the mix as well. More league titles than WBA doesn't make Derby the best team in the midlands. Anyway, you appear to have mistaken me for someone who gives a ****. Used to watch Forest when I was a student...- Oleg

I know only too well: as a student many moons ago I shared digs with a Villa fan and a Wolves fan and had a West Brom classmate a couple of doors away. Got very shouty at derby time. Villa were decent enough then (Taylor/Big Ron era) and felt themselves to be the aristocrats of West Mids...- Oleg

Long's cross for Morrison's opener was the best seen at the Hawthorns since the days of Wullie Johnston (or so a Baggies-supporting friend assures me). Vying with Stoke to be the best in the midlands though that's not as hard as it used to be given the state of the others.- Oleg
