About New Allen Edmonds Manhattan question

Probably should have started a new thread... the old replies kinda makes it confusing. Anyway, I think it looks fine, just that your pants look kinda baggy for a "slim" fit.

    Jantzen, Reliable at last?

i have a few others that i will take photos for the wiki one day. you should set up some pages for collars, cuffs and buttons. i still havent settled on a collar yet but im all for the trocas buttons +1 on pictures of collars! I think i may go through at least 10 different shirts before I...

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

Shipping is $40 and customs should run about $15 - 25 if they ding you. Don't bother with the COSC. The Stowa movement is plenty good. There are several used Stowas on Watchuseek and TimeZone. Save that, you've got to get it from them. FYI - Just got my customs bill for $12.15 from FedEx on my...

How Good is BB's So-called "Unconditional Guarantee"?

I had a MTO suit made (not MTM), and after BB altered to fit, I wore it a few times. Then I decided that I'd like the pants slimmed down a bit, so I took it back. I expected to pay something for the alteration, but there was no charge. I have no idea how many times I can go back and have them...

I have that watch and wear it with a navy gator band that matches the blued hands. Looks pretty good IMO. Lacquered black looks good as well. Didnt care for the OEM band. dl I agree, I'm not a fan of the OEM napa leather band. May I ask where you purchased your navy gator band?

The Watch Appreciation Thread (Reviews and Photos of Men's Timepieces by Rolex, Patek Philippe, Brei

^^^ Stowa's are pretty sick. Yours has inspired me to get one. Is the only way to get them from Stowa themselves? I really like the Marine automatic and I think it's like 600 bucks from them which seems like a really good deal but I'm worried about shipping to the U.S. Also, they recommend...

My first "real" watch... Stowa Marine Automatic. Stowa's customer service was top notch! I think the Marine Auto makes for a great dress watch. My next purchase most likely will be a Chronograph... perhaps the Archimede Pilot Chrono? I don't think my small wrist can support a watch greater than...

    What's in YOUR wallet?

I think I (or more likely my parents) lost my social security card between 10 and 15 years ago. Why anyone would carry it around is beyond me, but I don't have any reason to go get a new card either. As long as you remember the nine digits, the card doesn't serve any function that I can recall...

Brooks Brothers Suit Fit Question. Can this be fixed?

Did you try the suit on at the store when you picked it up? I did, but unfortunately I couldn't directly see the back - only at angles. The BB folks told me it looked perfect... The fit felt better than most suits I owned, so I assumed it was. How do most folks determine if the back of their...

Brooks Brothers Suit Fit Question. Can this be fixed?

Pretty much need to take the back out, reshape/recut the back and put some skilled tailoring into the garment. Find the right guy and you'll have a nice suit. Is this major surgery on the suit? I'm not sure to what extent BB is willing to tailor this suit for free. I live in the NYC area -...

Brooks Brothers Suit Fit Question. Can this be fixed?

is this a black colored suit? (if so i hope its for formal stuff) Yeah, it actually is a black suit. This suit is for my wedding, and my fiancee pretty much said I could get whatever I wanted, as long as it was black. Their navy was reaaaal dark, to the point it was almost black, but she said...

Brooks Brothers Suit Fit Question. Can this be fixed?

I just received my BB Suiting Essentials (SE) suit after about 4 weeks from placing the order. The Fitzgerald would not fit and the Regent only had pleated trousers, so I had no choice but to go SE. Since it was made-to-order, I chose flat front, double vent, 2-button, pick-stitch (looks very...

Suit critiques needed (pic)- can't figure out what's wrong

The waist suppression seems a little bit on the severe side. Or is this how a jacket should fit?

What's the consensus on shirt cuff monograms? Tacky or not?

I don't care for monogramming, so I don't want it to be seen. But I'm just curious to know why one would get monogramming at all if it cannot be seen? Is it so that you can find it if it gets lost?

What's the consensus on shirt cuff monograms? Tacky or not?

Why do you folks get monogramming on parts of shirts that cannot be seen? I think if you're gonna get monogramming, get it where it can be seen somewhat (flashes of cuff) or just don't get it at all. What's the point?

How Much do you Pay and What to Look for when Tailoring Shirts?

Furo, where are you located? I live in the NYC/Northern NJ area and would LOVE to find a tailor that would taper shirts for such a price... I'd bring in every single shirt I own

how to fold a pocket square

I definitely prefer to show the rolled edge on a TV fold. It adds some texture and depth to an otherwise minimalist fold. If not, then sometimes it can look like someone just stuffed a folded piece of paper in their pocket.

How Much do you Pay and What to Look for when Tailoring Shirts?

A lot of times, if the sides are blousy enough to require tapering, the sleeves generally need to be taken in as well (unless you have large arms). All my shirts I had taken in, my tailor takes in the sleeves. I think it would look out of balance if he didn't do that.
