26 years old, pinstripe suits, what's acceptable?

You can't wear a striped suits in American offices? You guys are a bunch of degenerate sheepfuckers. The topic was black suits and the office. Should be ok if your office is where you're conducting weddings or funerals.

Sole condition and when to repair

These soles look like they've still got lots of life left in them. Waiting until you see a hole is waiting too long, the soft or spongy feel described above is a good guage and something you should be able to feel if you push your thumb against the sole.

26 years old, pinstripe suits, what's acceptable?

You're not gonna get any love for that post. Pet hates of StyleForum include: *Black Suits *Black shirts with black Suits *People who post about the above when reading just two or three threads would show them how much they are hated. If you want to avoid a shitstorm just close the thread and...

Bad Yoox experience - would you buy from them again?

Doc is right, I'm sure it's happened lots of times to many of us. Be happy you found the YOOX site, you'll do very well over time as it's a great online retailer with a great overall set of policies and promotions. Do they still have your size? Often there's only one available. Pulling the...

What Do You Guys Think of This Outfit?

Go with the polka dot. I have a pet peeve involving striped ties with striped suits. +1. Too busy. The dot tie should work just fine.

    Comfortable business travel shoes recommendations?

I rarely take slip ons for a business trip. When traveling on business the most versatility and comfort comes from two pairs of oxfords that I rotate. I can dress them up or dress them down. I also just don't like the looks of any of the elastic sided dress slip ons. To me they look tacky and...

Opinions on this sport coat -- too short?

Could be a tad longer, but there's nothing really wrong with it as is. Overall, it actually fits pretty damned good. +1. But if you're asking, will you ever truly be comfortable wearing it?

What is your favorite potato chip flavor?

+1. Terra Chips Salt and Vinegar salt and vinegar is the king of all crisps

Dumb question: Do I have to unbuckle monstraps to put them on?

Agree. The unbuckling and buckling is a PITA and can't possibly good foe the leather. Use a shoe horn and you're all set. I don't unbuckle. I like to keep them the way they are so I'm not bending the leather more than I have to. If you have a shoe horn, you should be all set.

Is this Hugo Buss Suit too big? Can a tailor make it smaller?

sounds about right. I wouldn't spend the money to try and make this one perfect, alterations below would be close enough for this suit. Yes and yes, the suit is a bit big but still seems to fit well in the shoulders so this can be fixed. I would just shorten the sleeves a bit and have the sides...

    Lexol or crema alpina

Advantages of RLPL suits over RLBL ?

IF looking to buy a few (4-5) then you'll have a great mix, if you're only going to buy a couple and are forced into choosing it's a simple choice, go with the PLs IMO

Tailor just told me ventless jackets in, jacket sleeve should cover shirt

Be comfortable with the style you like and feel is appropriate for your body type. If you find a tailor that provide good work at a good price consider yourself lucky. Quality work is the charge for the tailor, the style and personality of your clothing is yours alone to own.

$800-900 to spend on a suit

You won't find Borrelli on STP but you will find Isaia, that may be your best bet. A great suit and well respected here on SF

    Slim suit & wide tie...taboo?

I like 3.5" ties with my black label, but also wear ties down to 2.75" wide. +1, and to me a 3.5" tie is not that wide. Be more concerned with the fabric and the pattern than the size, and be sure you hit a nice dimple. Good luck with the interview!

Pink Tie with White shirt and black suit?

Another colors would work. But remember that the tie will be the center of your outfit now since you are wearing black suits and white shirt. About pocket square: don't wear pink. Get a white one. +1. The black and white back drop set the stage for just abot any tie color, a contrasting square...

With trees, unboxed and unbagged, but with the bags laying on top to keep the dust off.

    Buying used shoes

Looks like consensus is, and I too agree, that if there's little wear and you're getting a good deal it's a good way to go. I've purchased Santoni's from e-bay and Magli's here, I love them both
