Crockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren Cordovan (Marlow, Darlton, Gifford, Garran, Lindrick, McCallum, Rh

That PTB is really nice. Does anyone know if it's made by C&J? If so, any opinions as to the last? Looks like it might be the 341 to me.

Where to buy Crema Alpina/Nubiana Online?

I like it better than Saphir Renovateur for calf, but I like Renovateur better for shell cordovan. Its effect on calf is spectacular. Just wish I could find some more.

    Epaulet x Carmina MTO

Would love to see a ruby shell austerity brogue.

Where to buy Crema Alpina/Nubiana Online?

Sorry, I didn't see your post. Over a year ago, but I would still be interested.

Where to buy Crema Alpina/Nubiana Online?

Sure, but I wrote them before and they said they couldn't ship to the US.

Where to buy Crema Alpina/Nubiana Online?

Great. Finally. Except they only seem to be selling it in Italy. Anyone figured out a way to get it delivered to the US?

***The official Alden thread *** Share enthusiasm, reviews, sizing, advice, and photos.

They look so much better on the Aberdeen than the Barrie. So much better.

PS to anyone who has black shell, is it worth it over black calf? I think it depends on the calf. I like my black shell Aldens much more than my black calf Aldens. Definitely worth it. Better calf, of course, would cost more.

    Crema Nubiana Alternative?

Nubiana became too difficult to import, and the formula was not the same as what I had previously brought in. Used to be 'Crema Alpina' and was very good.....turns out Bata bought the exclusive rights to that so it turned to 'Crema Nubiana'. I decided to only offer Renovateur....no real need for...

Is this what my shell should look like?

The finish of the dark brown shell cordovan that C&J uses is different from an Alden finish. I have 3 pairs in that leather, one of which I have had for several years and which has been subject to a variety of "experiments." I find that it benefits more from polishing than Aldens, and I polish...

    Shell cordovan boots

I own many pairs of Aldens and I love them, but my favorite pair of shell cordovan shoes is made by Crockett and Jones (for RL) and the pair that is highest on my hit list is by Carmina (they are difficult to get here, they didn't have my size when I was in Paris, and they have not responded to...

Alden flex welt suede chukka advice

I just wore my new snuff suede chukkas today for the first time. The snuff is a very attractive color, but I wish I had gotten the dark brown instead. The dark brown is arguably a more versatile color and I think I would wear them more often. I am, moreover, something of a klutz, with a tendency...

Size down for C&J for RL Darlton penny loafer?

I will email EBAY about this. Good.

Size down for C&J for RL Darlton penny loafer?

Thank you for the replies, gentlemen. I suppose it makes sense that some would need to size down and some not, depending on how close to the edge between sizes they are. No substitute for trying them on. In any case, looking at the pictures now on my computer rather than my phone, the shoes on...

Size down for C&J for RL Darlton penny loafer?

I apologize, because I know this question has been addressed before, but not sufficiently precisely to be clear to me. In general, I wear a 10D in shell cordovan shoes, 10.5D in most calfskin shoes. My C&J for RL Darlton/Marlow bluchers are 10D, they started out snug and eventually fit...

    Alden Shop of New York

(FWIW, I was in C&J's Jermyn street shop a few years later and the minute I sat down the manager looked at my feet and smiled: "Alden suede bals, approximately three years old, sir?" He was two months off.) Tall guy, sandy hair, right? Did the same thing to me.

    Shoe Mart--Alden Whiskey

I've got a pair of whiskey wingtip bal seconds on the way from shoe mart! Can't wait! Whiskey is an amazing color. Pictures, please.

    Cordovan Care

With what do you polish the Darltons? Alden brown paste wax works great. Saphir Medaille d'Or dark brown paste wax also seems promising, but I haven't tried it using the elaborate 2-hour method yet.

    Cordovan Care

Is the consensus opinion not to do anything before first wear? I'm itching to bust out my Darltons, but polish all my leather shoes before wearing. I'm new to cordovan and recognize that a little wax polish goes a long way, but is it necessary to use any prior to wearing the first time? Thanks...
