Adventures in Buying a Ferrari for $2

Question: What does the #1 MENSWEAR" at the start of a listing indicate? I can't seem to unravel the pattern.

    Source for Brookline Athletics T-Shirts???

I am looking for a source for Brookline Athletics T-shirts. I have bought a few at the Barney's Outlet in Wrentham, MA but have not been able to find them anywhere else. The tag gives the web address www.brooklineathletics.com, but that doesn't seem to work. The Barneys web site does not seem to...

What kind of iron do I need?

I prefer an iron without a non-stick coating since if you use any type of sizing or starch at some point, you will get a buildup. On a non-stick surface you will have trouble getting it off. On a stainless steel surface you can just scour it. I also think that a heavier iron will press better...

Shoulder fit - narrow / delts sticking out

Over Christmas, I bought my 19 year old son a new navy blazer at BB's. He needed a 39L. His last one was a 38R and no longer fit. Of course, BB's is traditionally fairly loose, but he's a 6' 160# swimmer and his deltoids stick out past his shoulders. He had this same look as your photo. We tried...

    Ironing help

Gary, that sounded like a nearly perfect description of how I do shirts, except when I do the front, I use the larger (square) end of the board and postition the front so that the square corner is into the shoulder and the front placket goes down the center of the board. This makes it easy to...

    Question on AE fit

Thanks very much for the help, fellows! One last (no pun intended) question . . . I know I can try STP and DSW for good prices. Is ebay safe or are there fake AE's out there? Also, does anyone know if I should bother going to Off 5th for this? I have one I can try, but it's 50 miles away. There...

    Question on AE fit

Could some of you shoe experts help me out please? Do the AE shoes fit consistantly across the line? I plan to make a trip to Nordstrom's tomorrow with my son to have him try on AE's to see what size fits him and if they are comfortable for him. Once we have found that out, I plan to shop for...

    Renters Insurance Question

I sent the apartment management company this email: Dear Sir or Madam, I am a resident of X-ApartmentComplex at address YYYYY, #123. About a week ago we received a package at our doorstep regarding Renter's Insurance. The materials enclosed cited a case of a recent apartment complex fire in...

    Renters Insurance Question

Vanity, When we were first married (a long long time ago), we owned two condos - one we lived in and one we rented out. We researched this whole topic pretty thoroughly. It may have changed, and/or differ from state to state, but here's what we found . . . our renters were only responsible...

    Adios, "Power Sellers"

I don't think that anyone was saying that they're the only segment of the population that are trying to find a loophole; but, they are a segment where finding that loophole is very easy. And while you should be commended for your honest, I would be willing to wager that you are in a vast...

    Adios, "Power Sellers"

As an eBay powerseller (not of clothing from TJMaxx) and someone who just filed taxes yesterday, I found it amusing to find this thread today. I keep close track of my sales and expenses and report everything. I HATE taxes, but I also hate cheating. I suggest to you that eBay sellers are not...

    Critique my new suit

Jacket problems aside, the saggy seat in the shot from the back makes it look like you are wearing a suit 3 sizes too big. I would think that they would have been able to at least get the pants right, and I really don't know much about this topic at all. From the back those pants look like you...

    style and attractiveness

I found it ironic to come upon this thread after having just read the thread titled, "Classic and Timelessly Cool Casual Looks (Pics)". As I looked at some of the pictures posted, I wondered if it was the clothes that made Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Sean Connery, et. al., cool, or if they would...

    Poll: giving/receiving feedback on ebay

Keep in mind that the "˜Nordstrom' business model very much plays into this. If you are willing to allow buyers to screw you on a regular basis, knowing you will come out ahead in the end, your feedback rating is going to be stellar. Unfortunately most smaller sellers can't afford this approach...

    washing shirts...

If you are using a liquid detergent, try pouring it from your measure ionto each collar as you put the shirt in the machine. Don't use any extra detergent, just use what you would have used. I think you'll find that will clean the collars.

    StyleForum exclusive for girls?

and I think she's a bulldyke. I'm pretty sure I'm not since I'm not even sure what that is (although I could make a pretty good conjecture), but to end this as you expect me to . . . what-ever!

    StyleForum exclusive for girls?

Ah, but I believe you've missed the point. While there have been some truly crude remarks on this thread (and I've been rather apalled by them), the point has not been that women should be banned from the forum, but rather whether this forum should become one of both men's and women's style. If...

    StyleForum exclusive for girls?

Thanks to the men of styleforum, I'm at least 20% less asshole than I used to be. As an attractive, intelligent woman, I'd tell you I think you are exaggerating, but perhaps you're right. I didn't know you then. Do you see how I did that? I gave you the benefit of the doubt - an intriguing...
