MEGA PEACOAT THREAD - 61 threads merged - all Peacoat questions HERE

You would probably have some trouble getting the sleeves longer, however, As a 40L I have found that sometimes I need the waist brought in, and the sleeves let down.. it can be done on some jackets a little. Try, 1/4 - 1/2 inch. I don't know about pea coats, but as they don't seems to be altered...

    Our President's Favorite Tie

Look!- First time I've see him tie a tie without a dimple. That's what I was thinking.

    Canes

mafoofan Jr., Could you give me an example? I might give it a try on one of the next ones. I mainly use mine during the winter months, when the chances of ice are higher, and in wet weather.

which outfit for new years eve

Sorry, I was too busy checking out the TARDIS in the background... #1 is a big no-no.. the long tie looks out of place (to say the least) with that vest. My vote, #2. Or even #3.. but #2 is better, reason being, the dark vest looks better to me then the gray one, with the rest of the outfit...

    Canes

haha.. thanks, I believe I could, and might for a while, but I have my favorite. I'm actually kind of looking to get rid of this one to a good home, before the women of the house start telling me I have to many, and they get shipped off to Good-Will!

    Canes

H.. well, guitarists do tend to know nice wood when they see it. I'm currently working on one with a hook, but it's amazing how much longer it takes. I hadn't thought about hanging curtains from it, as it really fits the hand rather well.. I based the handle on a silver handled cane I saw on...

    Canes

It is indeed.. Do you work with wood much yourself? Not many people I have met know the difference between flame maple and any other type of maple. In case anyone might wonder; It's 38 3/4 inches long, with a hand-rubbed oil finish. I also made a solid walnut cane with a antique glass...

    Canes

Okay Gentlemen, As my first thread here at StyleForum, I would like to say I am glad I found this group. I have made posts on a few other threads, but I now have a question of my own which through searching seems to have not been asked yet. Do any of you use a cane/walking stick? If so, what...

    Ways to wrap a scarf?

Agreed, If the coat is closed more, the four-in-hand type tie I found does not work as well. I've been wearing a shorter scarf lately, and failed to mention the Italian loop tie. I personally used to wear a scarf that way a lot, until it got lost, and I got the shorter one.. I now have a long...

New to suits, input on jacket with no vents please

The only ventless jacket I have is a sport coat (cord), which I rather like. I think it really is more of a personal opinion (as stated above). Other then the one, the rest of my jackets are single vent, I do like the extra movement that comes from having a vent (regards of the number of said...

    Ways to wrap a scarf?

I used to know a site that had many ways to wrap a scarf, unfortunately I don't remember what it was... There are many ways to do so though, one of the more common bring to tie it in an overhand knot in the front. I would also be interested to see what others have to say on the subject...

    Four in hand knot

The Prat is very nice, I have also found I have to get long ties, or the knot with come out small.. Other way to fix this, wear a three piece suit, you can the tie your tie short, which gives it a better looking knot (as you are having to tie on higher on the neck band) and it won't matter if...

What do you think of this coat for business casual?

I wouldn't think you would wear that as a jacket (i.e. suit coat, sport coat, etc.), I was under the impression he meant to wear it on cold days to/from... This is what I would most likely do.

What do you think of this coat for business casual?

Well, I'm new here, but I will also offer my opinion of this coat. Looks good to me. I too, would go with the Charcoal, just because it stays cleaner looking, longer. At least, for me, as I have three dogs running around the house, and every now and then a cat.
