Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Does anyone know where I can find a fabric that is very similar to this one on this rlpl Sportcoat? http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/index.jsp?productId=132247596&cp=54803326.54803846&ab=ln_men_cs_suits&parentPage=family I just tried it on and loved the jacket especially the fabric. My...

    Panerai at the office?

On wall street a lot of guys in your office will probably know what a panerei is. I wouldn't rock it for the first few weeks if not longer. You don't want to be wearing nicer **** than the actual employees.

    Thick as Thieves ONLINE

when you're working with 2" lapels, it is dramatically altering the look. If the lapels were widened proportionally wouldnt the look still be the same? i.e. a 2'' lapel on a 38 is equal to a 2.3" lapel on a 44? Someone please correct me if I am wrong or simply throw in some pics of a larger TaT...

    Thick as Thieves ONLINE

^^ My pattern currently goes up to a 44, but I'm changing that to a 42 as I don't feel the cut interpolates as nicely when larger than that. There seems to be plenty of good offerings out there for normal/larger sizes and less so when it comes to slimmer/smaller sizes That's too bad. I was...

    Thick as Thieves ONLINE

Slim suits work best on slim people. There are some picture-illustrated examples buried within this thread of some attempts at going against the grain. Does slim mean skinny or athletic/in shape? I am 6'2" 190 and athletic, not skinny. I just did some quick measurements and came up with the...

I have the tux. I will post some pics next week. It fits great. The lapel width is quite standard and not as thin as the house cut suits. That would be great. Thanks.

Has anyone ordered the tux yet? I need to get one this summer and it looks like an interesting option. I'd love to see some pics of someone wearing it.

    PSA Borrelli Sale

I just saw that hautelook is having a borrelli sale starting tomorrow. In case you don't already know hautelook is similar to gilt. However, they don't place their order with the brands until after the sale is over, so it take about 2 weeks to get what you purchased. They should have some...

    Suit and Shirt Critique

I find shirts to more often shrink in the neck and arm length than anyplace else. I don't recall ever having a shirts chest shrink. That's good to know. I think I will wait until the DG shirts come in and then if the gucci is still my favorite Ill try washing it, ironing it and possibly take it...

    thomas pink sport coats?

I like it though I would probably have that blue stitching taken out. I have a black ted baker blazer that had some similar blue stitching that my tailor took out.

    Suit and Shirt Critique

How much should I expect the shirt to shrink in the wash? It fits perfect in the chest right now, though if it shrinks an inch I think it might be too tight.

    Suit and Shirt Critique

Suit looks pretty good. Maybe a bit too much waist suppression. You have sorta wide hips which combined with the suppression, is causing a bit of skirt flair. Suit sleeves are 2 inches too long. Shirts sleeves are too long as evidence by the bunching. Not bad though! *Just wanted to add that...

    Suit and Shirt Critique

Thanks for all the input. I had a feeling the suit sleeves were a little long. I think I actually prefer to have them on the short side showing a lot of cuff. I will return to my tailor in the next couple days to have them shortened. As for the shirt, I am going to try it on again in a little...

    Suit and Shirt Critique

I just got my Z Zegna suit back from the tailor and also just received a gucci dress shirt I ordered in the mail today. I am pretty happy with both of them, but was curious to hear what some other people think. I purchased the suit a few months ago during a big bloomingdales sale for...

How many miles did you run today?

26.2 miles in Boston, under near-perfect conditions (mid-40's, wind not a factor). PR'd by more than 8 minutes. 3:12 and change. I'm thrilled, don't expect to run one like that again. Congrats man! I really want to try and run it next year, but I don't know if I'll be able to since its the...

    RLBL Fit

So anyone have some pictures of more athletic guys in RLBL? I have always loved the way they look, but havent had the chance to try one on yet. As a 6'2 190 lb athlete I am a little on the larger side (though not as big as some of you guys) My one suit so far is a Z Zegna 44L that I just had...
