I have two DBs from S&M and they're fairly balanced in my opinion. Without the curved quarters you'd get on a sb sportcoat the jacket certainly can look and feel longer. I wonder what @wilcthree would say about it.

Im with you! It's pinned for effect and the lapels arent as dramatic in person, imo

I'm not sure I understand where you're coming from on this critique. You feel like it's a trendy take on the db?

Same issue with oxfords 3 years ago. I haven't purchased one since because of it. Heard they've addressed that though.

I highly recommend Morjas suede penny loafers for anyone that hasn't tried them. Can't vouch for the full grain leather, but I have a pair off tassels and a pennies in suede from them and really enjoy them.

On a semi-related note, I read this morning on the website that S&M ocbd collars are now soft and unfused. Can someone confirm, because I havent purchased an ocbd from them since 2018 and i would not describe the shirt collars from those days as being soft or unfused.

Very nice! Those collar points stay tucked away at all times at 3.75 inches, huh?

Has anyone commissioned a MTO shirt in either the Italian Full Spread (C16) or Large Italian Full Spread (C21)? I'd like to have a full spread oxford cloth shirt but can't figure out which of the collars will work best because i haven't seen either IRL with a tie.

Am I crazy or did I see a post a while back about an update to the neo cut? Any details? @spiermackay

Man...I know. I really want that chunky hopsack sport coat to wear for F/W (20% off $249 is too good) but the look my wife would give me for buying another blue sport coat may turn me into a pillar of salt, lol. All in all, everything I love right now thats on sale is blue and I need brown...

I understand. Trying to maximize my funds over here. Now THIS is how web-based dialogue should go. I sincerely appreciate your insight gentlemen. I think I will be patient and check out the incoming FW options before making a decision. Giving my preference for the standard S&M sport coat, I may...

Workhouse brown jacket that can hang with worsted trousers or chinos and will hold me over until I can add more brown is what I'm going for. The wool/linen blend makes me feel like it will need to go up soon and wont be useful again until March.

Worth purchasing as my first brown jacket? Considering waiting for an MTO fabric that's versatile but the price I'll pay for that will be much more than the $260 the hopsack is going for now. I really wish the F/W21 items were available for preview. Would make this much easier.
