Garnet Shell Diesels. Ordered October 19th, received February 15th. Worth the wait. The boots are immaculate. The break in will be tough but I'm looking forward to making them truly mine through wear. Thanks Grant Stone. I'll treasure them.

I mentioned in a subsequent post that I don't typically make a distinction between pain and discomfort, so that's where I was coming from. To me, the experience of breaking in a pair of properly fitting shoes with a leather insole consists of some mild discomfort around the sole of the foot...

There seems to be a distinction in this forum between "hurt" and "pain", and "discomfort." There was no such distinction in my mind when I originally wrote the post about breaking in the British Tan Cap Toes. I think what I have experienced through the break-in period can better be described as...

Break-in is not measured in how long the shoe exists, it's hours of wear on the feet. I simply haven't worn those particular boots enough to get them fully broken in. Conversely, if you are wearing new leather boots and they don't hurt at first, they are either made with low quality materials or...

In a purely aesthetic sense, they are probably my favorite pair of boots. I'm really looking forward to them being completely broken in and getting a little patina on them.

This isn't my first time at the rodeo. It was actually my 3rd pair of Grant Stones, and I have quite a few other pairs of leather boots and shoes as well. I wear 12E pretty much universally, and the boots fit in every way it's supposed to. Every boot made with natural materials has to be broken...

I have the British Tan Cap Toes as well. Mine look almost new after 1.5 years. That calf leather is beautiful, but is really tough to break in. Mine still aren't fully broken in and I can only wear them for no more than four hours at a time.

Those are the Falcons. It was pretty much a standard build aside from the mini lug outsole. I don't really know what to say about the heel. I'm no boot expert.

Just put in my pre-order for the Kangaroo Diesels. As usual, when I'm on the fence for a purchase, I consult my six year old son. Me: How do you like these boots (I show him the boots)? Him: They're green. That's kind of cool. I like green. I want green shoes. Me: They are made of Kangaroo...

Yes, the boots are marked 12E. I have worn a 12D in most other boots, but I now realize that I should have been wearing E's all the while.

I'm not sure what you mean by size marking. I've measured at a 12.5, and I tried on a 12D at the store, but it was too tight. A 12E I tried on felt good though, so we went with 12E. It was my first E width shoe.

In exactly 14 weeks from the day I was fitted and ordered at the store in Spokane, these beauties were shipped out. Kudos for being dead on with the stated lead times. The fit is absolutely perfect. They make a very strong case for made to order boots. They are very heavy, but with the excellent...

I'm curious what are considered core sizes? What sizes are most and least common?

My first job in logistics was with a popular courier service which shall go unnamed. On my first day, I asked what the protocol was when a carton was marked fragile. My trainer laughed and said, "that means we don't kick it as hard."

They pinch a little on the top of my right foot at the flex point. I'm really hoping that it will stop once the leather softens up.

Geez, that's extreme. Well, if I get banned for reporting that both of my GS shoeboxes got damaged in transit and suggesting that they use padding between the shipping carton and the shoebox, then they'd be doing me a favor. Again, I'm very happy with the boots. So happy that I'm going to...

Thanks for your feedback on my experience. I don't see it as an admonishment, it is an accounting of my experience. I was very happy overall. I didn't realize that I'm only supposed to report 100% positive things on this board. I'm not really inclined to ask for an empty box. Seems a bit much...

I'm trying to build a diverse boot collection which covers all of the basic styles and colors, with a variety of brands. I ordered a cap toe boot from a well known brand but encountered some truly shocking quality mishaps. I decided to see what Grant Stone had going on in this style as I was...
