I would prefer not to receive any of these plastic hangers; these are easily damaged. Packing will be smaller without these. I discard most of these, but it is a pain to take them to the recycling place. The hangers from stores I keep are the ones that came with Suit supply Jort / La-Spalla...

You can wash at 20-30C without issues in front loading machines. Don't use high spin, use wool/hand wash cycle if the machine has it. Cotton/linen blend is more likely to shrink if washed at high temp / high spin. It helps if you fold the trousers to fit into a wash bag before putting them in...

I have one of these in about 500g. 500g coat Mostly it works in up to -10 Degrees with a suit jacket underneath. I would go for the heavier S&M version if I want a multipurpose coat that can handle colder weather. You can always leave the front open if it is not too cold. Personally, on...

You can also get Brooks Brother shirts in Thomas Mason fabrics for 75-100 on sale. Never had a problem with shrinkage or quality with BB. Their American cotton is rougher but Italian TM fabrics are of excellent quality.

Consider Cavour, shoulders are a bit narrow so their 46 may fit you better without being boxy. Full canvas, and currently on sale for around 550.

I have these, and not too much see-through. The fabric is nice, but needs starch and pressing after each wear.

I would go for wool/linen options. I had something with 50-50 cotton wool and did not like it. In summer, wool/linen jackets have become my favorites, wrinkle resistant, very breathable and drape well.

Spier, I believe uses a heavier 4-ply canvas even for premium fabrics. I have seen some fusing in the half-canvassed jackets that use lightweight wool/silk/linen mixes. I also have several full canvassed jackets in lightweight fabrics (S150s, wool/silk/cashmere mixes) from suit supply that use...

HT is a warm and reliable fabric, which holds its shape with rough use. Particularly good as a travel jacket, one can just fold it in a suitcase or handbag, and it retains its shape without creasing. I have three jackets in HT from a Scottish maker and in colder months I wear an HT jacket 2-3...

I can confirm that washing at 20C at wool cycle was not a problem with these cord trousers (or actually any trousers I have bought from Cavour made in cotton, linen, or wool).

I can confirm Cavour has narrower shoulders than SM (the difference is about 0.4 inch), but both SM and Cavour seem to work fine for me.

Cavour fits like SM regular contemporary but has smaller shoulders. SS Lazio /la Spalla fits similar. SM slim fits a bit tighter than Cavour in both chest and waist. Cavour jackets have full canvas, with SM it is generally half canvas, and generally use heavier canvas than Cavour or higher end...

Cavour's shoulders are without padding, so if you find a decent tailor who can open up the sleeves from the shoulder and adjust a bit then getting the larger size may work, but it is a difficult alteration. However, I would look at another cut from a different place if the shoulder and chest...

Balmacaan may have the same issues with waist position. There may be pictures to check out the fit. Be careful with using the default sizes to customize the fit. You might need to start with large to get the waist down and adjust other measurements. This Ulster pattern does not look right. If...

The waist is too high and a bit wide around the knees. It may be functional, but the fit is off. I was thinking about buying it but looking at the fit it is a hard pass.

Is the size of this year's Ulster Coats true to the size as mentioned in the description or the size chart which seems to be based on Top Coats and indicates a much trimmer fit is correct? Has someone tried the Ulster coats from this year and can check if they fit over a jacket in the same size...

Yes, The Navy cashmere hopsack and a light blue jacket have this half lining and work on most days and are good travel jackets. I just wish the linen or hopsack jackets came with quarter lining to be even more versatile in warmer weather. Traveling in Italy/Spain I am now in habit of taking the...

Jackets look nice but with warmer weather in summer in most of Europe, only the unlined jackets seem to work for me from May to September. This year I carried around a few different jackets for travel in Spain, France, Italy, and the USA from May to August and none of the lined jackets (cotton...
