New Hiking Boot Treatment and Care

You may want to consider Obenauf's leather oil. Used to maintain and preserve leather but its not as heavy as LP. Works very well and is easy to apply. I've used it on pull on boots and it makes them pretty water resistant to rain. Will likely darken the color.

The Official Men Without a Country For Farinelli's Jeans Thread

USPS has never provided true tracking of packages. But they definately deliver priority mail quickest from east to west coast for me, usually 3-6 days. I'm more of a lurker than a poster but had some time today and love the denim and construction of these jeans. I'm not sure if I like how they...

    Boxers, boxer briefs, or briefs?

I wear them all - briefs, trunks, boxer briefs. Find something with a cotton stretch blend. They tend to stay in place better - the all all cotton I have tried in many brands stretch out and bunch up on the legs.

    While waiting for 5EP chino....

I'm not sure its the best alternative, but Polo makes their Prospect chino that is available in their custom fit which is slim.

    Wrangler 936DEN "Slim Cowboy Cut"

Ruben you must be confusing the 935 slim bootcut with the 936 slim cowboy cut. I actually like the prewash overdyed black.

    Kicking Mule 1950s

still 200+ more than I'd be willing to spend... I don't own AWA, just regular old made in japan indigo version. Quite nice. Have worn them 5 straight days since purchase : I was also planning to get the regular version. I had read great things about it. But I started reading about the AWA and...

    Kicking Mule 1950s

I have last years model, bought last summer. It does not appear that the sizing has changed. The taper is very slight on my size 34, about 1/2 inch from knee to hem. I was able to get a 32 inseam so no stacking or hemming needed. I like them enough that I decided to get the AWA version which...

    Filson belt sizing advice?

I have a coule of their bridle leather belts and you do order your actual size - just run a tape measure around your waist where your jeans sit and order that size.

Are velvet blazers only worn by gays?

So I've been avoiding this thread due to its title. But it seems to be popular and against my better judgement I read through it. What the hell is the purpose of this thread? How is it relevant to streetwear and denim fashion? Or fashion in general? How is it that 5 pages of posts have been made...

Styleforum limited edition pieces from Engineered Garments and Michael J Krell

I was surprised to find this little box on my porch when I got home from work - I was not expecting it would arrive in CA in 2 days! Fantastic belt. Thanks Fok.

    The meaning of RSVP

This seems an incredibly unlikely scenario for most people (no matter how annoyed we might be by our guest's thoughtlessness). Much better would be to wait for that person to have a party and then just show up without RSVPing. I agree it would be harsh. I did say compelled. I would most likely...

    The meaning of RSVP

Wow, I think that would more or less obviate them ever coming to an event that you'll host again. This may eventually eliminate your RSVP issue, no guests = no need to RSVP. Also, RSVP doesn't mean to reply if you don't want to attend, as was pointed out earlier, it literally means, reply, if...

    The meaning of RSVP

Interesting post. I think a lot of people do not realize that RSVP means to also reply when not planning to attend. But this is irrelevant in my mind. To be invited to an event with RSVP and to show up after not contacting the host is extremely bad manners. I would be compelled to kindly explain...

Sources for 5EP Raw? Also, question about RB6s

i got some RB6 black from AE about 6months ago. they were definitely one wash. great jeans.. I agree that most of the RB jeans are rinsed/washed. Both of my selvedge RB6 were rinsed. But I have been able to find a rigid non-selvedge finish RB1, RB6, and RB11 during this past year. I can't say...

Sources for 5EP Raw? Also, question about RB6s

Active Endeavors has an RB6 described as rigid. I recently ordered a pair and they look/feel unwashed. Not selvedge, $198 before discount.

    5ep resin one wash

I did not find the raw bootcut online, so I bought the resin finish. The top of my thigh is about 24", my seat measures just over 40", and waist just over 36". I bought a 34 x32. They were tight enough that I thought I would have to return them but within 2 hours they fit very well - snug in...

    5ep resin one wash

There has been so much posted about 5EP jeans recently on the forum that I decided to get a pair of the low down boot cut one wash resin. They were delivered today and I was a bit concerned because I sized down and they were so tight in the seat and thigh and snug in the waist. But they have...

    Wearing jeans without a belt

I can't remember ever wearing a belt until I started working after college. Now I seem to always wear a belt out of habit.
