Yes, I also got the wrong size, but that is on me, and my feet. Per the measuring tool I should have been 42 or 43, and didn’t come up wide, but based on sizes of my other shoes I should have been larger. I went for 43, which turned out to be too small. So, I’ve actually learnt about my feet...

Hey, any idea when you’ll be ready for size exchanges? CS told me 2 weeks ago they’d get back to me when they’d processed first orders, wondering when that might be. Thanks

Oh. I think that decides it for me. I wear 10.5UK in dress shoes as well so sounds like I have the wrong size. I saw the 43 being recommended above to a guy who wears in 9.5 dress shoes. I think I’ll ask about an exchange.

@ThePetros thanks for the response. That explanation would make sense as I always need a bigger size than would be indicated based on foot length alone. A. I’ve got trainers in 11, 11.5 and 12 UK. 12 used to be fine in everything but I’ve lost weight over the last couple of years, including on...

Size help... With apologies for the feet pics, these are mine after an hour of wearing my sneakers, mainly sat at a desk, in thin no show socks. It is a relief to take the trainers off. Does that suggest these are too small? Or would this be normal and will stretch out with a few wears?

I don’t have wide feet that I know of, and I used the sizing tool, but I don’t think I’m a great barometer for sizing, I haven’t really got my sizing nailed down since starting to wear better quality shoes. For years I wore 12UK in everything (ie trainers and cheap, non GYW dress shoes for work)...

Lucky me, I was a Naked order as well! Classic white. They’re very nice. They fit very snugly, I’m a bit worried they’re too tight. I’ll wear them around the house today and see how I get on

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

I have just ordered a cotton suit from Suitsupply, a bargain online. My query for this thread: can cotton be altered? Any limitations on what can be done (versus wool)?

Is MTM an option for me?

In-store is same price as the UK website: normal Oxfords £455, handgrade £580. They have a store only sale, summer and winter but I don’t know what type of discounts. They have factory outlet in Northampton, where most English shoemakers are based. If you’re interested in this sort of thing...

Is MTM an option for me?

Your best bet would be to head to Jermyn Street, where most of the mid-range English makers (C&J, Church’s, Cheaney etc) have their flagship stores (and you can find Charles Tyrwhitt, TM Lewin, Suit Supply, and some the higher end shirt makers). Of those, C&J would be the best thought of, I’ve...

Is MTM an option for me?

Before you look at MTM shirts, try Charles Tyrwhitt. They do 4 cuts and multiple sleeve lengths. Pop into a store, they’ll measure your neck and give you the four cuts to try in your neck size, and usually they’ll have at least the two most common sleeve lengths available to try on (in all sizes...

    LOAKE APPRECIATION THREAD

Hi, sorry I can’t send a PM. Just checking if someone took you up on this kind offer?

Yeah there’s no substitute for trying on, my experience is different to the guys above. I have the Jarrow boot which is the 12508 last. I took half a size down from all my other GYW dress shoes, from 10.5 to 10 (UK). I don’t have many other boots, but I do have Loake chukkas in 10.5, although I...

    Ongoing Bespoke Projects

The first fitting of my first ever bespoke suit. Harrison’s Cru Classe 12oz I think. Obviously a bit tight across the back there. Is there anything to look out for at this stage or does it seem okay?

    Introduce yourself.

Hi all, I’m a 33yo accountant from and working in London. I’ve used SF for research purposes since learning more about suits to prep for my wedding in 2015. On the back of that I also got into GYW shoes. I’m at the budget end of the quality suits and shoes spectrum, and have just taken plunge...
