Archibald London: true craftsmanship, no middlemen, Official Vendor Thread

I also need some replacement laces for the ultralights, as for whatever reason the ones that came with the two pairs I have are way too long... Did anyone manage to find a good alternative?

This might come as a surprise, but Intel does not manufacture their CPUs either, it is manufactured by a company called TSMC but still sold under Intel's brand. A middleman is who buys Brand X and then sells Brand X on their website. Archibald gets to manufacture under their own brand or get...

Just seen the email about the Archibald X Hamerli collection going live I am glad I was able to give a good recommendation and it worked out! I know Hamerli gloves since I was a child, they always had a very good reputation for offering exceptional quality both within the country and...

I have a Burgundy Full Brogue Wildsmith as well as a JL Boots in need of a full resole. Is there a cobbler in London that is highly recommended and doing an excellent job?

If you get any part of any gloves wet you should wet the whole thing and let it dry that way. Otherwise the wet section will dry and shrink in a different manner and you end up with those wrinkles

Two questions: 1) Will you do a testrun of these before going into full production? Would be advisable to avoid what happened the last time. 2) weird question in the middle of summer, but what is the status with the handmade leather gloves from Pecs?

not sure if the two issues are connected, but the squeakiness of these shoes are crazy. Definitely not a sneaky shoe.

Definitely. This is how my socks look after the unlined ultralights (Navy) And this is just by rubbing to the sides of the shoe, imagine how it would look like if the insole would be of the same leather

im sure it is subject to change as these are in-dev pieces, but i would highly recommend NOT using the same leather as insole. a) they will bleed of color and potentially ruin socks or just color ones feet b) they will become super slippery c) wear down very quickly deerskin (or other leather...

This is how most loafers are piped: I really like the textile piping as well, it gives a bit more casual look to it that goes well with the margom soles, but might worth checking how would it look with leather piping.

I have to ask: what did you mean by "ribbing"? Which part of the shoe? Just to make sure we are on the same page.

i would leave the majority of the shoe unlined, but glue a very thin lining leather to the toecap only.

I like them very much! The single improvement i can think of is a tiny bit of reinforcement around the toecap area, so it does not look like my big toe is trying to punch trough the leather... :D

Two quick point on the above (altho im a 3rd party with no bacon in the matter): If the shipping company wants to lose, steal, destroy, deliver to wrong address a package sent to you, they will find a way to do so, no matter if you have a tracking number or not. Tracking will only work if they...

Well, it must be noted that he stated he was using this single shoe for an entire year. With a standard rotation, where you might wear the same shoe once or twice a week, even v1.0 should last a few years. But yes, this is exactly why i was so adamant on changing the footboard to real leather...
