    Linen suit suggestions.

For those of you interested, this is the cloth I have opted for. The style will be a soft tailored button two SB, high rise flat-fronted trousers.

    Linen suit suggestions.

Thanks All, some useful stuff. I cannot go too brown because I already have a lightweight wool 3-piece in a similar colour. I am tempted by the buttermilk, but it can be a bit yellow. I think I am persuaded towards turn-ups. Rise remains a question mark. I like the idea of higher and...

    Linen suit suggestions.

Hi All I am going to have a linen suit made in the next couple of months. I cannot decide on the details, so any thoughts appreciated. Firstly, navy or cream? Navy looks good, is flattering and will not need to be cleaned so often. Cream will be good for the sun and avoiding mosquitoes in...

How do I make my hair look like this?

OK having used Night Rider for a couple of weeks I quite like it, but not enough to buy more I don't think. My hair is plentiful but quite fine and it tends to flop. The NR texturises it but needs the support of something more sticky to keep my hair in check.

How do I make my hair look like this?

I have a full head of hair, albeit straight and I want to give it that rich, textured look like this. Any ideas how it would be achieved please chaps? My best attempts usually end up either as a fluffy bouffant, or a hard slick.

Gym / running shorts with decent waistband.

By way of conclusion to this, I bought some gym shirts and shorts from Uniqlo of all places and they have been excellent. Far better than branded stuff I’ve had recently.

    Oxford Shoes a must with a three-piece-Suit?

I wear 3-piece suits regularly and usually only ever wear Oxfords with the dark ones. I have a couple of brown ones, with which I will occasionally wear a Derby. It's more of a country look.

    Hip flask suggestions - UK

Yes I looked at Pickett. Nice and in budget. Though some colours out of stock. I’ve looked at Purdey and Cordings, who have pricier offerings. But I do wonder whether one is paying for the name. The Aspinal ones look well thought out I think. Also they are doing free engraving and also 10%...

    Hip flask suggestions - UK

Hi All I need a hip flask as a gift. £100 budget including engraving. The Aspinal 5oz one looks good. But my experience of their stuff has been mixed. Any other suggestions please? Many thanks.

Gym / running shorts with decent waistband.

Can anyone suggest some please? I am using Gymshark at the moment, but I've also tried Nike Dri Fit. The problem with both being, the drawstring waist doesn't stay flat for long. When I bend over, the waistband folds over, and it looks bulky. Shorts I have had in the past have been much...

    Slicked back, textured hair.

I have a lot of hair, but it is quite fine. I struggle to make it not bouffant and usually end up having it cut short to make it manageable. I cannot help but think that with the right products I can make it more interesting. So how do I achieve this look chaps? Slicked back and super broken...

Mike Ashley buys Gieves & Hawkes

Quite. I go to the Row fairly regularly and don't get the impression that it is in rude health. So what ARE they going to do? If they do what they USUALLY do, they will cater to the ultra cheap or footballer / drug dealer market. Maybe they will compete with Cad & The Dandy and offer cut-price...

Mike Ashley buys Gieves & Hawkes

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63741467 For any of you unfamiliar with Mike Ashley, he is the owner of Sports Direct and many other chains. He is very much a "pile it high, sell it cheap" merchant and the antithesis of everything normally associated with Savile Row.

    How wide are your trousers?

If we are going to start expressing the leg width of trousers in diameters, we need to do it properly. A 7.5" finish trouser in fact has a 4.77465" diameter, or a 2.387325" radius. Can we move on now? Perhaps to shirt sizes measured in Watts or shoe widths expressed in percentage of a Furlong.

    How wide are your trousers?

That may be an unfortunate photo, but it makes the legs look straight up and down. The long jacket emphasises the look. For me, trousers need to taper somewhat.

    How wide are your trousers?

I wore my 9" high-waisted wool and cashmere trousers with braces yesterday. It is so nice to be able to move about, sit down, stand up whatever without them pulling anywhere.

    How wide are your trousers?

Good points. I think waist measurement and rise are also important. If I wear trousers at my true waist the upper leg is necessarily wider than if I wear them at the hip. Which in turn means that I need a wider bottom, because otherwise they are carrot shaped. Trousers on the hip can have...

    How wide are your trousers?

That doesn't look like 15" diameter. 7.5" maybe, if you are referring to diameter as the width across the creases (aka finish or opening).

    Ah thanks.
