Really tested these puppies today. Took the fam to the sledding hill. Climbed up and down through packed ice, deep snow banks and slush for over 2 hours. Feet perfectly dry except for tiny leak in the front through the welt. I’d call it a great performance!- Darkishhaddock

My 2022 plan is similar to some of you here. I’m primarily working from home and like to really wear my boots. So I’m going to trim it down to just 4 Alden pairs. Looking forward to my preorder of the AOM stitchup boots coming in spring.- Darkishhaddock

Whoa… quite a discussion and great examples with Rolex. I can only add that the artificial/selective suppression of inventory and limited releases is 100x worse when it comes to hypebeast and sneaker culture and yet it is such a global phenomenon. Someone here recommended the Saphir cream polish. I’ve not used polish on any of my pairs over many years, so decided to give it a try. It’s pricey but it works! Made even the very dull natural cxl shiny.- Darkishhaddock

Damn! I was going by SLCrich’s collection picture but you are right, he seems to own the older pumpkin 405. Like Audog, I love the lighter tan color of the pumpkin too. hopefully they’ll use Denali on other boots someday and it doesn’t end up being a limited run.- Darkishhaddock

So from the pictures it appears that mahogany is more tan/orange-ish and Denali is closer to medium brown. I have the new mahogany stitchup boots on preorder with AoM.- Darkishhaddock

I’m sure the two leathers will age differently too. If the calfskin osteroy is like my other Alden calfskin pairs, it will have no pull-up and fine creasing compared to the more casual look of the 405.- Darkishhaddock
