    What is Business Casual?

I have seen guys wear chinos and a L/S button down polo shirt with boat shoes as business casual. However, I like to wear dress pants, "dress" loafers, and a dress shirt for business casual. In my company, it's never good to be seen as "too casual." All depends on your company culture, and...

    How should new shoes fit?

In my experience, if it doesn't feel comfortable from day one, I will not buy them. The shoes that worked out for me in the long run always felt good immediately. I don't believe in a "work-in" period for good shoes.

Have you ever bought shoes on the internet without trying the model first?

Many times. I call a department store that I know carries the shoe, ask the salesperson to measure it on the bottom from heel to toe, and then place the order on the internet. I always make sure there is a return policy, though...

Anyone else tired of the slim fitting trend?

I like that there is an option. The boxy, classic fit looks real sloppy on guys who should be wearing a slim fit. Not a fan of skinny lapels, though..

Help me get my husband a suit!

Although a lot of people here swear by made-to-measure, I've found as well that MTM clothes often look less stylish than well-fitting off-the-rack items. Totally agree.

Johnston Murphy vs. Cole Haan vs. Kenneth Cole (Shoes)

I would say Cole Haan, Johnston Murphy, & then in 1,246,876th place Kenneth Square Toe Cole I totally agree

Is this suit too flashy for interviews/work?

Nothing wrong at all with the suit from the OP. It's actually one of the more conservative suits from MV line.

Is it possible to show a musclar build through a suit?

Have your tailor stitch "Bodybuilder" in gold thread on the nape of the neck and chest pocket.

    Motorcycle Jackets

I agree 100% with your last statement. But why judge? Even for a second? Didn't one used to have to farm in the ol' dust bowl to be entitled/unentitled enough to wear jeans? Also, why are the people who be motorcycle caring about the people who act motorcycle? This is conciliatory, I'm just...

    Motorcycle Jackets

D&G makes good slim fit motorcycle jackets. I hate a nice one a few years ago but I'm no longer "slim"...lol....so I sold it. I have more regular fit motorcycle jackets by J. Crew and John Varvatos. Those are all good jackets for "non-motorcycle riders" When I was...

Suggestions to round out my fall wardrobe

Hey 4real- Got the jeans covered. A couple pair of APCs I'm breaking in (one New Standard, one New Cure). That being said, I'm always open to suggestions for great slim fitting jeans. I'll be in San Francisco on work in October, so I'm planning to stop by Self Edge and pick up a pair of jeans...

Suggestions to round out my fall wardrobe

I like most of your selections but I don't see any jeans. I would definitely add jeans and a leather jacket. John Varvatos has a lot of nice leather. Also, I saw J. Crew on your list. I bought a leather jacket at the end of the winter there for $350. It's now premium priced for $795 on their...

    Finding a tailor- Men's Warehouse?

I have a hot Asian lady doing my tailoring.

Visit to Woodbury Commons this weekend. Suit pics posted!

There were good deals at The Barney's outlet for suits on the sale rack. Hugo Boss Pasolini for $189. The Hickey outlet had suits for $500 on sale. I didn't find any sales person who knew what they were talking about regarding construction or quality. The Off 5th had a good deal earlier in the...

    San Francisco shopping--help please

Be sure to visit Haight Ashbury. It's like stepping into a time machine. Any particular stores/streets you recommend? I'm trying to save time so I don't end up walking around aimlessly. I already have Villains Vault on my list. Thanks

    San Francisco shopping--help please

Hey everyone... I am going to SF in a few weeks, staying in the SoMa area. Can anyone recommend some unique men's clothing stores? So far, I will be going to these (some are not unique but...): Archive Nomads Villains Vault Jack's --- G-Star Sak's Fifth Bloomingdale's I am looking for casual...

    washing t-shirts

This is a good thread. I wasa drycleaning my good t-shirts but that's getting expensive. I'll have to handwash them and hang dry, which is a pain **********.

    Manhattan and Brooklyn clothes

yeah, I am pretty familiar with the streets and neighborhoods. I was born in Brooklyn, and had a business in Tribeca during the 90's. I am just not up on the latest stores. I have been going to Sak's and Barney's lately but I would like to try other stores.
