The (hopefully) definitive thread on NYC tailors
Any recommendations for cheap reweaving (or skillful blended patching)? I would prize price over quality as the hole is smallish and on the buttocks, and I'm too ugly for anyone to bother paying close attention to my behind. Check out French American Reweaver. what brand jeans is your favorite ?
No, even if you don't wash them they get crease fades and such so fast. I actually never wash my jeans. That's right, never. How do you get rid of the nasty, sticky, gummy feeling that builds up after you haven't washed them for a while? Assuming it's sweat that dries on it.- jtang

Modern Tailor Big Sales fabric recommendation
Anyone have any fabric recommendations for a solid white shirt? Also, Chips had mentioned the tendency for the collar tips to curl on one of his shirts - can anyone else comment on this for any other fabrics? It's one of my pet peeves.- jtang

Altering length of a jacket
I have had two jackets shortened. They cost $125 per at one of the better tailors in San Francisco. The jackets were longs and I had them shortened about 1 1/4 inch. Anybody have any experience with his overcoats? I bought one yesterday from Century21 for half off. Seems like a good deal and it fits me perfectly, but the material doesn't seem thick enough to keep me warm in NYC winters. It's 70% wool 30% nylon. Eh.- jtang
