    norsefanboi thanks. I'm not really into the mocassin or boat shoe styles personally. Maybe I should try harder to find a loafer that fits. I suspect a light-coloured suede derby would look OK with shorts, but they'd be hard to pair with most of my trousers.

    Sure did. I actually went back and bought another deadstock pair in the same cut and size. The second pair is in a lightweight light grey flannel. Love the shop just on the basis of the product and service, and it's a bonus to be able to support a small local business IMO.

    This Pantaloni Torino trouser on The Rake is very close to what I had in mind in terms of the cut, however it's wool rather than cotton. It's damn nice-looking though, might give it a try.
