Viberg Boots - Reviews, appreciation, news - share yours

Just my opinion, I think they look fine. What is the leather/tannery? I don't know the proper terminology but I think the leather is surface dyed and so the dye is kind of acting like a paint and cracking in areas. Could just be a normal thing with the leather.

I'd be a little concerned about the tightness around your toes, unstructured toes generally lose space as they collapse but shouldn't be tight. IMO any tightness around your toes won't get better with wear.

IMO it's not worth risking it with your neighborhood cobbler. I could be totally wrong but I don't think anyone's going to hit the same holes with a machine.

Just my observation and I could totally be wrong, I don't think they use brass nails for the heels stack, at least on some of the older pairs I've owned, the nails don't look like brass.

I'm interested in ordering Peacoat and have a question on sizing. My chest is measurement is 42.5" (108CM) - 36" waist around my bellybutton, would you recommend sizing up to a XL? I'd probably layer up to a thicker wool sweater. Also for any Canadians who have ordered before, did you get hit...

My feet changed significantly so I sold off almost all of my Viberg collection. No real desire to pickup anything new, maybe a pair of 2045 boondockers if they ever do another run.

I love Brian's work but he doesn't do a traditional handwelt. It's closer to early GYW and the way Viberg does GYW these days. Checkout this video on how he prepares the insoles and here's the late DFWII's response when I asked him about Brian's technique...

    Custom White's Boots ... Thoughts?

I've used both bick 4 and lexol with roughout. Brush your boot with a suede brush, condition and let dry and then go over the boot again with a brass suede brush, the nap comes back to a preconditioned state.

He gave a half assed "sorry I got caught" apology after initially trying to shift the blame to his "marketing staff" for posting the message. He has a history of posting this sort of stuff and harassing people online, sad dude overall
