Where do you keep your phone?

that jacket with the poacher's pocket is brilliant! i dont have any custom clothes but now i want. i rarely wear a jacket, but when i do, phone and flat wallet go in breast pockets. when i'm not wearing a jacket, phone goes in the shirt pocket (i only buy shirts with pockets), regular style...

    Overcoat Fit Advice

To be honest, that coat is perfect for what it is designed for... real winters with a suit. It should be a littly boxy and long. That's what keeps you warm without restricting movement. Like any fad, short and skiny will go away. I was actually looking for that exact coat in my size ...

Custom made Walking shoe for the countryside - who does a good job making them?

David, you really should try Russell's. for super wide width, the only way you are going to be happy is with custom boots.. or your NB. there is no off the rack maker that puts out anything wider than EE. you could go with custom Whites or Nicks, but they will be far far heavier than Russell's...

I'm going to preface this with... I took NO photos of my shoes on vacation. For the first time in a long time, I had occasion to wear my boots. During covid and wfh, I took the opportunity to move from the NYC area to south Florida and my boots went into hibernation. However, spent the last 2...

The Watch Appreciation Thread - Part two (Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Jaeger LeCoultre,

@NakedYoga, big chunky dive watches are great. That Doxa is classic. 20 years ago I got a yellow Breitling Superocean Pro, and although it is a great watch and you never see anyone with one on, to this day I regret not getting that orange Doxa instead. The Turtle is also a great choice and wears...

what would be the differences between florsheim longwing 75675 from the early 90s and an older model of similar pebbled black leather... besides the rubber vs leather heel? are the older shoes much better? and if so, why? thx

Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

I have a sizing question. I wear 9e in alden barrie longwings and ptb. the aldens seem a little long..a little more than a thumbs width between my big toe and the front of the shoe... but the width works. I actually have a pair of alden cap toe boots in 9ee and they're very comfortable. I also...

    Serious fashion advice

You already buy at JP and BB and know your sizes and how they fit, so just go there... head to the sportcoat section. They both have lots to chose from. Blue blazer, some kind of blue patteren (check or plaid), brown pattern, and grey pattern. Dont just wear the jacket from one of your suits...

The Alden Buy, Sell, Trade (B/S/T) Thread

If those were E instead of D they would be gone already. I love them. BUT, as to your cat... i know the feeling. 2 years ago my 10 year old dog had "stomach flip". Never heard of it. Vet said 0% survival chance without full on operation and only 50% with it. He was old... only a few years left...

    Advice on a hat that's not a ball-cap/truckers cap

I generally dont bash but that would certainly be a no-go for me. Canadian Mountie pops into my head when i see that. I dont know where you live, and that might alter my view, but I would be more inclined to go with a teardrop fedora and turn the brim up all around to get away from the Indy...

By the way... it turned out that the Leffot tankers were an anomaly. Although they are Barrie, they fit and look narrower than others I have. All here ar 9E, but the Tanker looks and feels more like the Brogue Plaza shoe on the left than it does the Brogue V-Tip and AoM George, wich are both...

#3 on my Alden journey. I chose the classic 405. I saw a brand new in box pair on the bay in EE width that were sub-$300. Since my Leffot tankers were snug, even though they were E width, I decided to jump on the 9EE 405s. Well, extra width coupled with Trubalance equals wiiiiiide. Nothing a...
