    Should your belt always match your shoes?

    I prefer them to match both in color and in "formality", meaning a buff black belt, shined black shoes and a suit aren't a great fit. A higher shine black belt is a better match. And the underappreciated "gig line" needs emphasis when tucking your shirt and belting your britches.
