I find mine a shade "clunky"... I'd consider going with a narrow shaft, they should stretch. No opinion on the different smooth horses (I have full grain 995s, and it's a great leather). I would not recommend the reverse leather. Mine have actually fallen apart.- Gavroche88

I am a big fan of many of these, but I do think that the C-shape high boot is the perfect realization of the Avantindietro aesthetic. I've worn a pair of AV_F derbies almost every day for 1.5 years. I think wormwood's right that the construction isn't perfect -- especially in the heel, which is thin and too pliable. Another pair of AV_Fields. I find my derbies get more wear than any other of my shoes, so best to build in that direction. I've dropped my Carpes to $400. Pretty great deal at this point.
