yes. Give any Goodyear welted shoes a good 24hrs of wear for proper break-in time. The cork below the footbed needs time to mold to your foot and the leather will start to better conform to your unique foot shape.

    Quality suits around 1k?

As others said, Spier and Mackay needs to be on or near the top of this list. Quality for the money is off the charts. Great fabrics to choose from, and you can go MTO full canvas for less than $1K. And if you’re lucky enough to fit the OTR size, you can get into a great half canvas suit for...

I know this post seems like an eternity ago the way this thread moves lately, but wanted to suggest a few full canvas options: Solid charcoal flannel Navy or midnight chalk stripe flannel Solid navy fresco or high twist wool

Just took shipment of this year’s polos and wanted to post thoughts after a full first day of wear. I should start by saying that I have both shirt collar and button down polos from 2018 and 2019, which I’ve felt were good value for the money, but not without flaws. Notably, they we’re sized a...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Detroit last. This is a good casual last for a Chukka and will style it more like an Alden Chukka boot as opposed to a dressier chukka look you might find from from Edward Green.

if it were buttons, would that solve the issue? I frequently wear the bottom button undone for that extra bit of freedom (and it adds a touch of casual flair)

As others already mentioned, an A-1 or trucker style would be nice. I personally love good looking horn buttons here over a zipper (Or both!). I mention length because many of these jackets are a touch too short, and can look awakward. Just a touch longer (2 inches) than most would be a sweet...

On the topic of “what other pieces should rick consider making...” 1) medium brown suede jacket (simple classic collar, leather trimmings, not too short in length). Everything matching these specs is like $1800+ and I’d love to see where Rick could take things... 2) luxury sweatpants. Maybe...

writing reviews is pretty buried in the experience, no email prompts to people who bought the products. Best reviews are right here on this thread anyway ;)

great info. Definitely one of Spier’s hidden gems this year and I’ve really enjoyed my navy parka. The fabric really elevates it to a level most other parkas can’t touch, and at the final sale price, it’s just an insane value.

    Best quality Chelsea boots????

For the money (about $300USD), Skolyx’s house brand is darn tough to beat. I’d take a serious look at them. https://www.skolyx.se/en/home/668-skolyx-chelsea-dark-brown.html

Echoing this comment too. I had been eying the navy commuter parka since it came out, and when it went final sale, it was simply too good to pass up. I’m coming from a Canada Goose parka that never fit me quite right (sold on eBay for more than I paid, so it was at least a good store of...

Where do you buy your shoelaces?

Hanger Project has great laces. Shipping is a pain, but if you stock up it’s well worth it. The boot laces in particular are incredible. Very similar (if not identical) to what Edward Green uses. I also like the laces from Skolyx and A Fine Pair of Shoes. Again, shipping is a pain, but i just...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

You’ll be a full size down (UK sizing) for most Carmina lasts, so expect 7.5 for Rain last, Forest, Uetam, Detroit... Simpson is the one that can be trickier to fit, so I’d recommend going with an 8 in Simpson, and you may just find an extra bit of room at the toebox.

    MyTailor (Hemrajani Bros.) Appreciation/Discussion Thread

yeah, that bomb drop during the livestream was huge. I had to go back and listen a couple more times to make sure I heard it correctly. Overall, it makes sense. Divij does outstanding work in my experience, but I will miss Joe at consultations and fittings. I will not miss the “mytailor”...

Agree with nearly all of this. Especially charcoal flannel suit and carrying larger stock of mid grey flannel trousers (always sell out way too quickly). The polo coats have been incredible and I’d love to see more unique fabrics like this year’s teal barleycorn.

Can confirm. Pattern matched on one of my Thomas Mason red/blue Prince of Wales shirts.

    MyTailor (Hemrajani Bros.) Appreciation/Discussion Thread

I don’t have any shirts from the Hampton collection, unfortunately. I did get a white poplin from Joe’s basic line that has been terrific. No transparency issues, just some wrinkling as you’d expect for a poplin. Once ironed, though, it’s damn sharp. Don’t underestimate some of those basic...

    MyTailor (Hemrajani Bros.) Appreciation/Discussion Thread

Yeah, no issues for me with the linen book. I’ve actually been hoping mine would soften just a tad over time, they’re quite crisp. I’ve had a lot of success with the Thomas mason (purple book) fabrics as well. One is now 5 years old and the other is going on four years, both strong and not even...

I picked this one up too. I was similarly nervous with it being called “teal” but you’re absolutely right that it reads much more grey and blue (with a lot of midnight/navy undertones too). Every day I’ve worn the polo coat someone has stopped me to say they love either the fabric or the whole...
