Disclaimer - I have 6 boots with Dainite plus a few shoes, it’s my favourite sole I personally think the reasoning is to do with aesthetics- I think the profile of a Dainite soled boot is aesthetically more pleasing than that of a Commando, Vibram or Ridgeway. Agree not hugely inspiring, but interesting approach with the lighter boots. I do like the look of the Kelso from a first review, looks a little bit different to usual C&J fare. I passed, the boot would just not work for me either at my usual size or half a size down. My heel is marginally on the narrow side, but it’s never been an issue on other 348 shoes I have. It is a great looking boot, but it doesn’t fit like a typical 348- Stiglitz

A previous response from me…. I would strongly recommend trying the Camberley on before buying, it doesn’t fit like any other 348 in my experience (& I’ve got 5 different styles on the 348, it’s the best fitting last for me). FYI i take the same size in 348, 341 and 325 I tried the Camberley...- Stiglitz

I can’t speak for their international shipping costs, but the Tannery in the UK are good value & have occasional sales (I’ve picked up a few pairs from them over the years). Always get fast free delivery (buying in the UK) and very good service from them- Stiglitz

I have the Chiltern and it is a bit heavy for a suit. Would also recommend you try before buying, as you will see numerous times if you search, it is an odd fit & not for everyone. Kinda torn on these. I feel like they’re wearing perfectly for what I do, but at the same time part of me wants them to i think there is a psychological hurdle to get over with rough out suede. I’ve got numerous C&J shoes & boot in calf leather which look as good after 5 or 6 years of wear...- Stiglitz

just to add to the confusion I do have the same issue with my C&J Skye 3 - there is more leather around the ankle so it does overlap compared to the Islay and Coniston- Stiglitz

if one pair or jeans can make £2.5k+ worth of C&J boots look bad, I think the problem is the jeans. Unless you’re starring in a remake of Shawshank Redemption, maybe C&J aren’t the best match for the workwear look- Stiglitz

What type of shoe are you looking for? For me personally (& just based on my foot shape) I found the 348 most similar to the capital - have had an Oxford and monk shoe on both lasts, taking the same size for C&J and loake- Stiglitz

they are relatively close to the Coniston for my foot (I take the same size in both), both good roomy lasts for me personally, although I should add that I find the 325 doesn’t work for me in shoe or loafer (too big in my usual size, and sizing down a half is too small)- Stiglitz

It’s been over 2 years since my last C&J purchase (my wife thought 13 pairs was more than enough) but I’ve finally gone back in with the Molton and I love these! I’m a big fan of C&J chukkas (& owner of a few) and had toyed with the Brecon, but for a more casual but still stylish looking boot...- Stiglitz
