    Barware

So the website looks specifically designed to cater to college bars, but I would recommend barsupplies.com. They have utilitarian barware that works just fine, and is downright cheap. Another thing to consider is using an all-metal Boston shaker. Instead of one metal tin and a pint glass, you...

I think I hate San Francisco.

^ I can believe that. By "local", I mean anyone who has been there long enough to drink the kool aid. Everyone I know in SF is from the east coast. I think I know one native San Franciscan. But half of the people I know are from the midwest, rather than the east.

    Video Games

I think Fallout 2 needed a fan made patch, but Star Wars: KOTOR II definitely needed one to access the end game content. That was Obsidian, and the exact moment the budget ran out was very very obvious. Yeah, that was the one. I must have played Fallout 2 at least 5 times when I was in high...

Has the Web changed your reading habits?

I'm trying to get back in the habit of reading books. I used to devour books from the library. Now I just devour styleforum. Still, I wonder if we're also becoming better able to handle multitasking -- switching back and forth from one task to another. There's usually some period of reduced...

    Reputable online liquor retailer?

You also can't be drunk when the UPS guy delivers the alcohol. Seriously.

    Best Shoe Care Kit?

Soft flannel cloths to buff a nice shine. I'm interested in hearing recommendations for convenient sources for purchasing flannel cloths for buffing. I bought the shoeshinekit.com kit (without the box) a couple weeks back, and have been practicing on my shoes since then. However, the polishing...

    Barack Obama on "nice suits"

Oooh, better information here. I knew there was much missing in that previous piece: http://www.marketwatch.com/news/stor...53E29A6BA1D%7D

    Barack Obama on "nice suits"

i'm confused, doesn't he live in a $1.7M house? None of the candidates are living in what could be described as an average home: http://finance.yahoo.com/real-estate...idential-Cribs

A Man's Library. Essential books every man must read...

The Making of the Atomic Bomb, Richard Rhodes Not nearly enough modern history and non-fiction on the list. Speaking of which, can anyone recommend an excellent book on the American Civil War?

    Best place to change currency

Definitely agree on ATMs. Also, for some unknown reason, the exchange booths at Narita in Japan don't rip you off nearly as badly (coming or going) as currency exchanges I've seen in other countries. The conversion there was really quite cheap.

    Wardrobe for BigLaw?

Before convincing yourself that you need five suits, 18 dress shirts, 197 ties, etc., I'd double check with your firm about the dress code. Then, I'd do some searches here on Styleforum about summer associate / law firm attire. Basically, just about every one of the vault 100 firms has gone...

[PSA?] Earn $17,000 in 90 days for just staying in bed?

Plus, I find it hard to imagine a disease or ailment that would render a person bedridden for 3 months that wouldn't also be so severe as to limit useful in medical tests. I mean, you'd have be in a bad way to bedridden for that long.

    summer associate suit advice

I'd stay away from BB. I bought my OCI interview suit from them, but that was back when I had no idea what I was doing. To my eye now, and my general understanding, is they use old-fashioned, boxier cuts. I just bought a Ralph Lauren Polo cotton blazer, and it's got a much cleaner and modern...

    summer associate suit advice

Yeah, I would definitely double check to see if they really have a business formal dress code. I've heard that a couple of firms out there still have everyone dress in suits every day, but they're few and far between. Some firms I interviwed with during their weekly "caual jeans&quot...

Something you must learn before it's too late

The ship has already sailed on so much I wish I had learned at a younger age. Some things you just really need to start learning at a young age. One thing I'd really like to like that's actually feasible is calligraphy and other interesting handwriting skills.

Picked up some eyeglasses, need info on them

A google search for A1 Ronsir only turned up a few hits... is that an inscription on the glasses? They look like they are a Shuron Ronsi Zyl, or at least a very close variant of one. Because the perspectives are different, the lens shape may be slightly different, but the brow line looks to be...
