Japanese Shoes: Bespoke & RTW Super Thread

I see. I'm not against someone using a tool to make things perfect as can be. I was curious as to how much he uses them. I assume this is true for all the Japanese shoemakers then to varying degrees. ...I've read a lot of the thread, although it's very large... Anyone have any particular...

French Tailoring Thread (e.g. Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Smalto and etc.)

The reason why I asked is because I had actually contacted them and in the USA we have a guy named Paul Wilson in NYC who apparently bespokes shoes there? Or maybe I am mistaken, but at any rate that's what their website says. I had also contacted them and was under the impression that they did...

With Berluti, do you just call to set up an appointment? And for both JLP and Berluti, do you literally have to show up in Paris for bespoke? If not, how does the shoemaking process work? Do they measure in say, NYC, and then send to headquarters or?

French Tailoring Thread (e.g. Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Smalto and etc.)

Cifonelli apparently comes to the USA fairly frequently, at least they email me frequently enough throughout the year via their mailing list. I can't really find anything about Camps though so may have to just call...

    John Lobb Appreciation Thread

I've been out of the game for a while but I was told that Japanese customers hiked the price up for a pair of bespoke Oxfords by quite a bit. Is this true? I remember there was a time when you could get JL bespoke for maybe $1500 USD. They even offered two pairs for one order.

In your experiences, how hard is it to schedule an appointment with Cifonelli for a bespoke suit in NYC? Do you usually just set an appointment over the phone and wallah?
