Problems retying laces on Tods Gommini Loafers

Question on length of back blade of a tie
Hi guys. Not sure if this is a stupid/redundant question, but I'm a little perplexed by this. I'm aware that the tie should reach the tip/middle of the belt, but what about the back blade? I'm asking because usually the back blade of my ties only ends around 3/4 to slightly less than an inch...- mrballs
