Quick Jean Suggestion
cycling will kill the crotch of your jeans no matter what. It's just a matter of when. The crotch on my SD103s just blew, but I repaired them as best I could and reinforced the other side. Rad Underwear
I have big cycling thighs and boxer-briefs are the way to go. Boxers only protected me from my pants and my jonx was never too stoked on the lack of support. Uniqlo Greenline-Discontinued?
The selvage (or "shuttle denim" as they refer to it) was from last year. I found a couple pieces at the Freehold store but they were odd sizes and ugly washes. How do you use pomade?
I used to rock Murray's which has the consistency of candle wax. I'd smear a tiny amount on my hands and run them under water that was as hot as I could stand so it wouldn't be so clumpy. You did damage your ears, and that sort of thing is cumulative. I did it a bunch of times and while I'm sure I damaged my ears, I'm nowhere near as bad off as members of my band who can't hear for **** anymore. Just wear earplugs. Hemming Jeans in NYC?
definitely go to 45rpm and get them chainstitched. Any tailor can "lock stitch" jeans and a lot of tailors can California or Original hem (chop off the bottom and reattach it higher) but lock stitching makes a hem that doesn't "rope" and won't be spot on to the original and doing a california...- mcflip

Durable jeans for less than $40?

Blue denim Jeans VS Black denim Jeans
Black dye is much more stable and colorfast than blue, hence it is more difficult to get out of the fabric (ie, fade) Black jeans will never fade the same way as blues. They're pretty much a completely different monster.- mcflip
