So the oxblood McGregors came in over the weekend. Got these off Shoebank (Destin FL) for $137. So far I would say I'm 2/2 from this outlet (other being black Strands). My 2nd black strands were better than my 1st bourbon strands. The firsts are in great shape, a very minor blemish very low in the upper right above the stitching. You would never see it unless you were 2" from the shoe. The seconds were flawless however (cosmetically anyway). For $199 they...- Jack Roberts

Has anyone successfully used black polish on an oxblood to get a nice antique effect? I saw someone in the previous appreciation thread that did this with, I think, a walnut or bourbon shoe using black polish. He did it on the cap toe and over the broguing and the effect was gorgeous.
