I have to say looking at your pictures and reading your posts, my first thought is that you need to have your feet remeasured on a Brannock device. I don't see how you can have a 9.5 length on a Brannock and yet have that much toe room on a 8.5 length boot, unless your middle toe is much longer...- tocohillsguy

Maybe neither cowhide nor horsehide is the answer. Maybe he needs kangaroo or stingray (or shark which isn't shown below, but in my experience is extremely abrasion resistant)? Of course if you're into safety, this site says to dump traditional boots...- tocohillsguy

Kyle should know. I'm guessing you can fit either a 10.5E or 11E depending on how you like your boots to fit and the socks you wear. Proceed with caution. Your foot size is between a size 11.5 to 12 (really closer to a 12) on a brannock. White's might run big, but dropping to a size 10 seems off to me. Yes, I believe they have a celastic toe. I would have to disagree on your characterization of CXL as a dress leather. Perhaps it's only semantics, but dress leathers are typically capable for achieving a glossy shine. That is certainly not the case with CXL. It's very much a casual leather...- tocohillsguy

British Tan which I presume to be CXL. It's quite soft and pliable, and has that distinctive new leather smell. The seller claimed to have worn them only about 10 times albeit in rough terrain while camping. Not sure about the accuracy of the representations, but perhaps when he wears boots...- tocohillsguy
