    Advice on emotional caregiving?

Does anyone in here have any sage advice for me? I feel like this is a shortcoming of mine and I'm curious if anyone has any insights or experience which might help me develop this skill a little more. I'm starting to settle into my role as the pater familias and overall I'm proud of how I've...

Recommendations while in France (9/17-10/2 2016)

Any iGents have good recommendations for things to do, but most importantly, places to eat while my wife and I are in France? Our itinerary: Paris Sept. 17-21 Annecy 21-24 Lyon 24-27 Cannes 27- Oct 1 Paris 1-2 Not really on a budget, but not very into cutting edge/nouvelle cuisine type places...

Fantasy Football 2016 sign up! Ends 8/21

Ok Chode Jugglers, poast in here and send me a PM with your email if you are interested in playing a little fantasy football this year. Format will be determined by number of players and a straw poll once sign ups are over. I'm going to cut off sign ups on the 21st so we have time to bicker...

Things to do in San Francisco 9/5/15

So the wife and I are heading to SFC to see Billy Joel over Labor Day weekend (9/5-9/7) We will have approximately 10am-6pm Saturday and all day Sunday to tool around. Places to go, things to see? We're not really in shopping mode these days. Love food/beer/wine, but not really into haute...

    Some Wedding Pictures (RedLantern)

Got married on June 29th! Almost everything went really well. The day before it was pouring sideways rain but it miraculously cleared up and we had a gorgeous day for it! We were married at at an inn on Newfound Lake in central New Hampshire. We had the ceremony outside in the garden then a...

    Whitlock equates NCAA to slavery?

http://msn.foxsports.com/collegefoot...2210?GT1=39002 Wow, I am surprisingly insulted by this article. I agree that something needs to be done to reform the NCAA, perhaps limiting coach's compensation, but to equate participation in NCAA to slavery is pretty bad. First, I need not point out...

    Spring fever

All I want to do is make a questionable hookup and regale my friends with tales of my indiscretion - is that too much to ask? Seriously though, feeling most pervy and aggro these days, anyone else feeling spring yet?

    Anyone sport a "ricky jacket?"

was browsing on ebay today and spotted this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...torefresh=true that struck my fancy. So basically a ricky jacket is just a waist length zip jacket? Seems like the precursor to the member's only jacket. At any rate, I think it's a sharp jacket for those aiming...

    Jazz for the Neophyte

I got a library card today and noticed that the library appears to have a pretty good amount of jazz albums available. I am aware that jazz can be kind of an acquired taste so I'm looking for some basic, approachable stuff to get my feet wet. Recommendations?

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Went to a midnight premier last night. It's good! By far the best of the lot so far. Obviously they had to leave quite a bit out, some of my favorite parts actually, but the movie stands on its own. See it!

What should I bring to a party tonight?

I'm going to a social function tonight. The hostess is making the main course and a few other things, but there's going to be a **** ton of people and more food is always appreciated. What should I bring? I kind of want to do some kind of old-world baked dessert, I do make pretty good baklava...

    Spin Class

Went to my first spin class this morning. Pretty fun stuff, not to mention some prime eye candy. Certainly better than churning away by myself for 45 minutes. Anyone else spin?

Started my lift far too soon after lunch...uuugh.

Ate a late lunch today and have to go to a banquet type of thing in a little bit so I couldn't wait as long as I'd like before having my lift. Started out with heavy (for me) deadlifts. Not a good idea. Want to vomit but then I'd have wasted my protein shake...

    Great periods in one's life?

Has anyone here had periods (2-4 months) in their life where they feel like they are at their "best". Specifically I am talking about intellectual ability - times when you feel the most creative, or when you feel like you absorb and understand difficult material much faster and more easily than...

    Should I get an LLM?

I'm considering getting my LLM after I graduate (2010). I'm thinking about taxation or estate planning. It seems like a lot more people have one in taxation than estate planning but I am probably more interested in estate planning than taxation, but the University of Washington offers it in...

Is it ok wear a tweed herringbone jacket with a gingham check shirt?

I don't know if there is a rule against combining spring/summer and fall/winter patterns? Seems like there would be but I don't think it's too offensive in this case (brown coat, blue shirt)...

What are the "quarters" of a jacket?

In my time here I have yet to figure out what the quarters on a jacket are. My guess is that it is the space between the outside edge of the label and start of the sleeve, ie; a jacket with open quarters has the sleeves of the jacket set back and closed quarters has the sleeves set forward?

Any Huskies (UW) fans out there?

Anyone else wishing they could fast-forward a month to the UW-Oregon game to see the debut of "Montlake" Jake Locker 2.0?
