Gaziano & Girling Appreciation & Shoe Appreciation Thread (including reviews, purchases, pictures)

Similar to high end watch forum like Rolex TRF, if you can attach quality photos, respected members here can tell you if they are fake or not. As mentioned by Leaves, for hand welted ready-to-wear shoes you should look into Enzo Bonafè, Vass or Saint Crispin's. Like everything in life, if it's...

Absolutely @DWFII if it's a seamless counters--heel pieces there is no wastage to speak of. If we're talking about a 1 piece sheet like the JL Chapel, Vale and JL SC2010 model, then the wastage margins can be higher. Then again, only the ultra skilled craftsman would be selected to work on...

Don’t see any downside construction wise, as long as the heels are well supported. Seamless heels do feel and looks like you’re wearing a pair of bespoke to me. The only downside I am aware are the costs to Vass and other manufacturers in material And wastage. Doing a seamless you’ll most...

Have to agree with above gents. SC MTO options are bottomless with no premiums added. Finishing the best in the industry. Vass MTO options are becoming more attractive with their new array of Museum and Suede skin. No premiums on MTO also. Price value ratio unbeatable compared to their peers...

Very nice Boots @MonteCarlo your numbers have come in today. The Vass pattern cutter picked a very lush sheet of suede to make your boots. Well done on your Vass boots. btw: Your profile pics looks very familiar :-) @NAMOR Difficult to tell on our side also, but the right boot gives the...

@patliean1 Depends - There's always a range of boots in certain last to try. But the range of sizes available for sale depends on your size. A good chance you'll walk away with a nice pair of shoes and your boots being a MTO order. Good luck and enjoy the beautiful city of Budapest. But do...

@justinkapur - I attach the pair of Black Calf in New Peter Last size 43 you were referring to. A sample MTO. Has a unique punched U apron with medallion. FYI: The toes on the New Peter a touch more comfortable than the F last.

We can also vouch for the above comments - having also disappointed a couple of SF members this week. The Shell and Whiskey is in very limited supply - and impossible if you're wanting a pair of High Boots in shell. Sorry to disappoint. A recent batch was sent back to Horween, because Mr Vass...

Based on the info above - You should try going down to 8.5 E. Sounds like the 9E too big. Remember the 9795 Last on the William II is more spacious around the heels and toes compared to JL popular 8000, 7000 lasts. Hope this helps.

Hello @anzo how are you? That's quite a jump from 44.5 in both U and F to a 43.5 in P2 - what model was the P2 on? Which could explain the 1 size difference.
