roger, thanks - the apron is hand stitched, the sales lady mentioned that a few times. The AE tree's are a small, maybe they do fit right just feels like they are too tight. It depends on what conservative means to you. In most law firms, probably not. On "casual Fridays" or those with business casual policies, then they'll be fine, but then ex hypothesi "conservative" isn't necessarily the touchstone...- Strokeman

I can't find the post but someone made reference to the fact that a medical degree takes longer to attain than a doctorate which, often, is not the case. My degree requires a 2 yr MS, 5 yrs of coursework than an additional year or 2 of post-doc fellowship to attain licensure. Just a thought...- Strokeman

Hundreds of years before PhDs were first conferred, by German Universities, physicians were called 'doctor'. In most anglophone nations MD is a higher degree on par with PhD. This is the order of academic standing at Oxford (at least according to Wikipedia)...- Strokeman

Don't forget your scholar's gown and carnation. Ha yes, though my gown was of the more garden variety and I never bothered with the carnation. Your Suit Is Making You Stupid
The Virginia Bar Exam requires test takers to wear business dress. Sneakers are allowed, however, which kind of defeats the purpose. Oxford exams require subfusc: dark suit, black socks and shoes, white shirt and collar, and white bow tie. Mortarboards to be carried and not worn.- Strokeman

^ Ah, virtually neighbours! E&R is most definitely a favourite. Walters? Acceptable, though range is somewhat limited. But you can at least get a decent cut there... Unable to wear black shoes anymore!
I love black shoes. You guys are nuts. Agreed. I love my black shoes as well. Brown is lovely, eye catching and I have more browns than blacks, but when it's time to be serious at work then black easily rules. For me at least: Dress shoes = business shoes. Business = serious.
