The dark chili IS stunning on the Macneil. I have a pair. But the 2.0 is a truly awful shoe in my opinion and the beautiful color can't save it. I don't like the profila binding and I hate the Poron insole. Very cramped. My Macneil 1.0s with the regular insole and black piping are more...- RLeslieS

The Macneil 1.0 has a regular dress insole and black piping around the collar and eye-flaps; the 2.0 has a Poron insole, no welting, and a slightly different profile. IMO, the 1.0 is a highly superior product. It's notable that the Macneils in black and burgundy shell cordovan are still the 1.0s.- RLeslieS

Yes, the tan grain Black Friday Macneils that I ordered are the original Macneils but with an ugly rubber sole, which I changed out. The 2.0 calf has a Poron insole, which I actually find uncomfortable, and does not have the black welting around the edges.- RLeslieS

I finally got my Tan Grain Macneils (not the horrendous 2.0s), SMU w/double oak sole, from the Black Friday Sale. Does anyone know if these are accurate representations of the colors for AE's recently added skews of the Maritime? On the product page, the green looks Day-Glo, but in this photo from the website, it looks much more subdued and nice -- the red, too. Thanks for your feedback.- RLeslieS

I haven't worn a 65-last blucher, but my guess is that you should size it like a 65-last balmoral. For me, I go 1 size down and 2 widths up from my Brannock size.- RLeslieS
