Did anyone pick up the Leffot black shell PTB boot? Was in Jcrew in NYC a few months back and they had an Alden black shell PTB with brass eyelets and leather sole that looked absolutely stunning in person. All that matters is that you love them. They look great, and like other members have said, there are a lot worse examples out there of bad creasing. If it still bothers you, just sell them and replace them with another pair on sale - I know I tried to get "used to it", but at the end of the day...- mdubya

Great post. Agree about Alden doing a respectable job with clicking, however I've seen more and more examples of bad grain compared to 2-3 years are where it was quite rare. AE seems to be hit or miss, with the Higgins Mill you can definitely tell they put in effort to select the better parts...- mdubya

Most common misconception on the forum that ugly/loose grain creasing is caused by foot shape/sizing of the shoe. Take a pair of Edward Greens that are 5 sizes to big for you, and they will still crease tightly, albeit deeper and a large crease in diameter. Creasing like that is 100% poor...- mdubya

Meermin Mallorca Shoes
Funny you mention this - I f'ed up my right foot trying to break in a pair of meermin bluchers. Permanent damage (mild haglunds). Worst mistake ever - the shoes feel and break in like concrete. Never again.- mdubya
