    Laundering Shirts

Assuming they are cotton or linen, machine wash quick cycle, high spin, with warm water and a good quality detergent (pre-treat stains/problem areas). If they are white shirts, switch to hot water and add some sodium percarbonate. I see many people suggest cold water, however in my experience...

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

Regarding the navy blazer fabric, is there a reason navy cashmere isn't in the running? To me it has a richer cloudiness and is distinctly SC/blazer material. I understand it can be cost prohibitive and [maybe] lack durability, but is this the reason for it's omission?

    Washing & drycleaning question

There is a misconception that a dry cleaner will treat your garments with better care than you would. If you care for them, hand wash individually in warm water with a gentle cleaner and gentle agitation. Spot treat if necessary. Monitor often. Dry naturally.

    Custom Suiting Toronto

I last commissioned a suit through Harry Rosen about a decade ago, so things may have changed, but the service was a glorified M2M offering. They do offer good fabric selection, but the execution leaves much to be desired. If your plan is to commission multiple pieces and build a wardrobe, I...

    Custom Suiting Toronto

I have seen my pattern, I've had muslin fittings, and basted fittings before final fittings. Isaac is the only one that has ever measured me and the only person I deal with when I go to his location. I have not witnessed him drafting a pattern or stitch himself. I know for the latter he has a...

    Custom Suiting Toronto

Thank you. In terms of a house cut I'd say no. His client base led him to a very british cut, but as times and preferences progressed, he has adopted some Neapolitan characteristics. IMO this is one of the most compelling reasons to use his services - he has the knowledge and expertise to cut...

    Ticket Pocket--Yea or Nay

I like them if you have a large drop from shoulder to waist - it can add visual interest to the waist so the drop doesn't appear so extreme.

    Pairing oxford shoes with chinos

Even with the chunkiness of these oxfords, they still seem a bit too sleek relative to the rest of the outfit. Although I will admit this combo is less offensive than any of the chino/oxford combos I've seen on this thread. Definitely a SWD look rather than a CM look

    Pairing oxford shoes with chinos

Makes me feel bad for DWW. The man offered his [educated] opinions, reasoning for his opinions, visual examples, and yet he was met with animosity because some viewed his opinions as personal attacks

While comfort, performance, and aesthetics are important, I believe it is equally important to consider rate of wear. I only have StC's with leather soles, but maybe members with multiple types of soles can comment on the relative rate of wear.
