The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

I'm looking for feedback on my new Charles Tyrwhitt sport coat. Would really appreciate any thoughts or if needed alteration suggestions. This is the fit right out of the box on a 36S slim fit.

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Thank you for the very insightful feedback. This is great stuff. The shoulders the tailor will be working on. He just eyeballed the jacket on me and said I'll fix it (no measurements etc) which makes me a little bit worried though. Were you suggesting the length in back to be shorter than...

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Thanks. Yeah the jacket was just made. They said they can do something about those sleeves /shoulders from the back. The pants Spoon Tailor claims looks just as they should. I was not happy with that outcome, but they essentially say nothing can be done about it.

Very helpful. Thanks. Those horizontal folds are not visible most of the time, function of the pose at the time I think. I have a couple of inches of room left on the waste, so it's not super tight. I do see what you are saying though. I'm scheduled to take it back to Spoon this week, so...

Ask A Question, Get An Answer... - Post All Quick Questions Here (Classic menswear)

Thanks. Ha ha. Didn't realize my pose was that funny. Well, I do agree the back looks funky. On the jacket, I don't think it's because of suppression though, because the wrinkling is mostly on the sleeves around the shoulders. And I also wonder why moving the pants up a little bit from...

Suit Jacket and Slacks different shade of black

I would agree with what GBR said. Mixing these will look odd.

spoon tailor -hong kong bespoke operation in San Francisco

Because of the flat front of the pants and the no break / clean look I was going for, I opted for no cuff. I've heard mixed things about mixing flat front modern look with cuffs. What do you think?

Suit Jacket and Slacks different shade of black

I personally believe if wearing different shades a little bit more contrast is better. i.e. very similar but different shades will look worse than contrasting colors jacket and pants. Obviously, contrast will give you a more casual look than the formal single color suit. Pictures might make it...

I would love some fit / alterations feedback on my Spoon Tailor (SF) bespoke suit. The pants do wrinkle horizontally unless I pull up a little bit from the rear waist as seen in the pictures. Does this seem too long? I like the front view but from the back there are some issues around the...

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Picked up the pants for my Spoon Tailor (SF) suit where I previously posted jacket pics. The pants do wrinkle horizontally unless I pull up a little bit from the rear waist as seen in the pictures. Does this seem too long? I like the front view but from the back there are some issues I think.

spoon tailor -hong kong bespoke operation in San Francisco

Picked up the shortened pants, so this is the full suit from Spoon Tailor in SF. Jacket still needs some work I think and the pants unless I pull up from the back wrinkles as seen in some of the pictures. Waist pulled up a bit from behind:

Thanks. You're right, particularly on the right side I think. I'll ask Spoon what they can do about it. Hopefully fixable.

Thanks! Yeah I'm thinking maybe an inch shorter too, although in the picture it might be because I'm wearing jeans.

Were you referring to my pics? Would love some specific feedback. Is it the armhole angle that you were referring to?

The Tailors' Thread: Fit Feedback and Alteration Suggestions

Picked up my first bespoke jacket today, the pants are still getting some work done. I suspect the jacket might need some fixing too but would love to know what you think about any alterations that may be required. Thank you.
