What's the most you've ever spent on shoes?

Hard for me to say, as dress shoes I've probably spent the least on, which is what I assume the intent of the thread is. I've always found discounts or such on dress shoes, so $100 or less. However, back when I ran, I'd spend $150 to $210 in running shoes and Cowboy boots are $200 a pair.

    Double Breasted Style.

I love this style dinner jacket, ever since I saw Humphrey Bogart wear it in Casablanca. You wear it well, everything is on point!

16 year old guy - how can I adopt a better style?

What Veremund said. Your style has to match your body and self confidence. If it doesn't make you feel confident, then it is not for you. Then find someone in the public eye who has a similar body shape as yours and a style you like and use that as a base. As others pointed out, as you build...

Men's Scarves, Ascots & Neckerchiefs - photos, discussion, inspiration

I used to live in Lubbock, Texas, where the wind blows. I learned to wrap the scarf around my neck where the 2 ends were in my back, usually tucked inside my coat. It would keep my neck warm and could pull it over my nose if need be. A scarf can be a functional piece out in west Texas. West...

I love this tie. It is my favorite from this board so far.

Men's Hats: A Discussion Thread, Questions, Opinions, Suggestions...

There are a lot of those here in Texas because of the sun. I imagine Arizona residents use that form of sun screen even more. lol I used to wear a hat full time to cut down on my possibility of skin cancer that is so common here but the sweat aggravated another skin issue on my scalp I didn't...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

This. Doing something just to be different doesn't mean you are cool or hip. Cool or hip people can get away with doing something different because they are cool or hip as a matter of personality, the rest of us just look silly when we try it or like we are trying too hard to be cool or hip.

    Dragon Inside Suits

I agree but that is pretty common these days, a lot. the too short, too tight look is big with the skinny young crowd. There is a whole section in the "off the rack" suit stores just for the slim look to achieve this look. I don't get it either, but who I to say?

    Tailor4Less ( avoid at all costs )

iTailor, Indochino, & HarrySuits are all made in China. If the textile industry is like the music industry, there are only a handful of factories that all the companies outsource to so all 4 companies could be using the same factories to make all these suits. I don't know this is the case but it...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

I kinda agree with the OP in missing the black tie events and most of the ones I go to now the guys just don't get it. The tux is the suit where the man makes the suit rather than the suit making the man. A black tie event is all about the girl, her dress, her hair, her shoes, her jewelry, her...

Friday Challenge 19th September 2014: Brown tie without a staple shirt.

That is funny, I can guarantee you it won't be #3, my dad always threatened to make us eat those if we didn't behave. Just the sound of the words make me shiver.

How many shirts do you own?

I've recently cut down my rotation. I have a white dress shirt with french cuffs from iTailor.com that I love, will get more from there. Plus a royal blue and a light yellow shirt with french cuffs, but forgot the maker. I have a gray, a blue, a yellow, a red & white plaid shirt, & a light...

Friday Challenge 19th September 2014: Brown tie without a staple shirt.

I have to step up my game, I don't even own a brown tie. I have just about every other color, but not brown. Guess what I am buying this weekend.

Does anyone have feedback on "Harry Suits"?

Put me in this category. I am a new member who is looking to get a made to measure suit from an online company. The reviews on Harry Suits in this thread are all over the place. They range from terrible to great to it is OK. One poster mentioned he is happy after he spent $60 in tailoring to...
