    No not fake. B L ray bans had the etching on the lenses and only later did they start etching the Ray Ban logo onto the top right lens.

     hi oosterling, here are the pictures of the etchings. The right lens has a pretty standard BL etching, but the left lens is very grainy. It does look like it could make the proper BL but obviously looks wrong. Does the etching wear away at all? I could really do with some help on these since...

    I did a quick google search and cool ray were an optics firm big in the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Unfortunately whilst very collectible,they dont have the same financial bracket as ray bans. If these glasses were sold as ray bans then you should be able to get your money refunded.

    I bought mine on the web and they were described as pink, and on the vintage sunglasses site they are also described as pink. However you are right they are in fact rose.still doesnt make it any easier to find out any more info about them though .

    From what ive learnt, original pre 1980s changeable lenses all had the BL etched sideways. So there is a good chance your lenses are almost the same age as youre frame.do the nose pads have any etchings? Also which way dose the brow bar etching face?
