Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Any thoughts on Sineu vs Forest? I very much like my Forest chukkas. I have a pair of Rain Chelsea’s which are… good, not great. Loose heel, snug on the small toe. Trying to gauge whether Sineu will fit more like Forest or Rain (knowing that either way it’ll be fine… but hoping for more...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Hi friends - could anyone share “on the hoof” pictures of the Sineu last? Considering a chukka in the Sineu and trying to visualize how they might look relative to my Forest last chukka. beautifully posed shoe shots are all well and good but curious to see how they look in balance. (I’m mostly...

Those look great! Are they comfortable? Do you often reach for them, or are they special use / do they take some planning to wear? I find myself gravitating towards slip-ons in this age of nothing mattering - loafers and boat shoes mostly. Hoping this could fill a gap as an in between dressy...

THE OFFICIAL ALDEN THREAD FOR 2020 - SHARE REVIEWS, SIZING, ADVICE, AND PHOTOS.

Does anyone have a pair of the Alden slip-on chukkas ("Traveler") they can share pictures of here? I've seen them pop up in a few places (TSM, Alden on Madison, and now Leffot too - here's a link to TSM's version) but I've only seen one review over on Reddit. I'm weirdly tempted by these but...

Carmina Shoes - Definitive Thread (reviews, advice, sizing, etc...) - official thread.

Quick Chelsea advice... I’m looking for a pair of dark brown Chelsea boots to replace a C&J pair I wore into oblivion. I have limited experience with Carmina - bought a pair of suede chukkas at Barney’s closing sale, model number suggests they’re Rain last but they look more like Forest or Inca...

The Official Alden Thread for 2018 - Share Reviews, Sizing, Advice, and Photos.

Question on Aberdeen sizing. If I wear 8D in Barrie and Van (Barrie needs midweight socks); and 8.5D in Copley (bad fit, loose) and Plaza (Ok fit, snug but ok in instep); how is the Aberdeen likely to fit in an 8.5D? I’m mostly worried about the instep, but vaguely concerned about the width...

Does anyone know a retailer currently selling or taking preorders for a reverse tobacco chamois boot on commando? Ideally looking for NST or straight tip; speedhooks are vital as well. I know B+M has a great looking WTB but I have too many wingtips at the moment; and Gentlemen’s Footwear is out...

@wurger - could you possibly confirm no typo on the Skye II on sale? I was thrilled to see that but just got a note back from C&J with the politest version of “Are you mad, why would we do that?” Fingers crossed as I’ve been hoping to trade out my Islays in 7UK for the Skye in 7.5... kids, the...

French Tailoring Thread (e.g. Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Smalto and etc.)

For posterity, the 40 is too small (tight through body, snug shoulder, binding armhole), and the 42 likely to be too large, for someone who comfortably wears Canali Kei. In other respects, the look was indeed generic Italian - nothing particularly unique although very well executed -...

French Tailoring Thread (e.g. Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Smalto and etc.)

Thanks for the notes - and also, crap. I bought a 40 (usual size) but wear 42 in Kei only... sounds like this gamble won't be paying off. For $500 in a colorway I needed (dark brown), if it's a generic Italian that's amusingly probably exactly what I wanted. Fingers crossed on sizing I suppose...

French Tailoring Thread (e.g. Camps de Luca, Cifonelli, Smalto and etc.)

Folks - I just grabbed a Cifonelli Montecarlo sport coat from Barneys Warehouse. Price was too good not to take a flyer. I typically wear Canali Kei coats - I find the shorter length and casual feel works for me. Any thoughts on the Montecarlo in context of the Canali? Any risk that I’m buying...

Here’s the trick with the Islay: it has a really low instep. I was measured at a 7.5UK at C&J in London, wear 7.5Uk in 325 and 7UK in 335 Chelsea, an 8D Barrie and Van. Van was a little tough on my instep but broke in. 7UK Islay... is not breaking in. I’m pretty much giving up on it which is...

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Measured at a 7.5 UK in London for the 325 and 335. I took the Peal cordovan boots at a 8 US. They fit well everywhere but a touch short and narrow in the heel. Oddly the Peal cordovan wingtips in 8 US fit well in length, a touch narrow in the forefoot, and wide in the heel. So, try them on...

    Eidos Napoli

Can anyone ID which generation / style of the field jacket Saks is selling here? I snagged one when it was in stock, but with the discussion above am wondering if I got the Ragosta like I thought I had. Many thanks...

    Eidos Napoli

Thank you for the detailed reply! Very helpful, and I do in fact believe this jacket is half-canvassed. Looks like I'll be waiting a bit longer to add something from Eidos to my wardrobe. Thank you for designing such cool pieces - will hope to snag some of the last ones you had a hand in.

    Eidos Napoli

Need some help with a good kop/ bad kop evaluation. Grabbed a navy blue Eidos sport coat from Barneys Warehouse on stupid sale - under $300. It shows up, fits well enough, but is a midnight blue with navy plastic buttons (!?!) and looks like it might have some pants associated with it...

    Eidos Napoli

Thanks for the input. Navy Tenero in my size on 80% sale at the Warehouse - have been meaning to get into the Eidos game after the incredible pieces I’ve seen, and at that price it’s a giveaway. Of course I found the most boring piece to do so with! I wear a 42 in Kei so hope 40 in Tenero...

    Eidos Napoli

Anyone able to comment on Eidos sport coats vs Canali Kei? I love my navy Kei but want to lighten up its workload. I assume Eidos is comparable quality, but fit, cut...? ETA: Eidos from Barney’s. Not sure what model the sport coat is but it’s a simple navy with flap (not patch) pockets.

Was just at C&J on Jermyn St and they’re sold out of the dark brown Coniston in my size (and two around it) across the company. Nice pickup! ALSO: confirmed visual and physical evidence that at least some Barneys shoes are sized one width down from their UK correspondent. Tried 335 and 325 in...

Thanks for the replies! The Islay tongue on mine at least is not bellowed, just completely loose. To the cobbler!! I’ll post the Harvard pics later in the week... it’s hard to see now. Usually with creasing I just shrug and bear it. With this there was some original puckering by my big toe...
