    EG Sale?

I think "may" was a modal, not a date. Yes. lol. I didn't say "anyone who didn't jump in in May may want....." Historically, a lot of the shoes are snatched up in the first 6 hours - many in 24-48 hours. I was pleasantly surprised to find mine still available a week after the sale started.

    EG Sale?

Anyone who didn't jump in early may want to check anyway. Perhaps the exchange rate is slowing the sale, or perhaps I just wear an odd size. I nearly slept through this sale until two days ago when I realized it must be sale time. Found this thread, found the shoes in my size (10F on 888 or 82...

    Airline travel warning

what would you have done if the bags were lost on the way to the meetings? that is why I never check bags - I have been in meetings where somebody had to wear a cheap suit that they bought at the last minute because their bags were lost. trip there was nonstop. (and on a small regional jet...

    Airline travel warning

I think the solution is either leave the Brioni cashmere and EGs at home or put them in carry-on. I'd probably vote for taking something else, but if it was a special meeting I can understand the temptation. In the future I'll do that. The point was - I never even thought about the replacement...

    Airline travel warning

I never thought about this before, so I thought I'd write a brief story. Yesterday, I returned from a 3 day very formal business meeting. The meetings required clothes from full suits to sportcoats to sweaters to jeans depending on what time of day it was. The Airline "mishandled" my luggage...

Top things you've learned from SF !

    1) Brown is for farmer (everyone should be required to edit their answers to include this one. The rest, in no particular order: 2) Canvassed - not fused 3) Black pants are for waiter 4) Balmorals vs. Bluchers 5) There are dozens of shades of brown shoes. I need the entire spectrum. 6) OTR...

Allen Edmonds: So many shoes, so few choices

Glad to see someone who actually owns EGs backing up my position. I was somewhat fearful I might be banned from the Style Forum for blasphemy, laesa maiestas or something similar! Actually, my original point was that I like AE a lot, and have been wearing them for 15 years. They just don't make...

    Aportnoy is on Hiatus?

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/f...65&postcount=5 ...and that is his first post there since December 28th. Which was one week after his most recent post here. Perhaps an Aportnoy sighting here is upcoming?

Allen Edmonds: So many shoes, so few choices

Buy another brand.... I do. EG is my two most recent shoe purchases. But I'd gladly buy from AE. They've made me some great shoes, but styling has gone more Ken Cole than I like. Look at the dress shoe choices available from JL or EG, or many of the UK brands. Maybe Americans just need to wear...

Allen Edmonds: So many shoes, so few choices

I could also have titled this: Allen Edmonds - the casual choice Before Styleforum, my shoe of choice has been Allen Edmunds for at least 10 years. In the past year I've even bought two new pair. And now I'm out of choices with Allen Edmonds. Here's what a perusal of their website reveals: 4...

    Help with Edward Green size

My GUESS is that those are reasonably close. If your foot runs on the wide side of normal, I'd guess the fit would be good. If your foot runs on the narrow side, I'd guess those will be sloppy.

Where are all the EG sale shoe reports?

I am a rebel. There just seems to be something too "show and tell" or exhibitionistic (if that is a word) to take pics of my shoes and post them on the site. Although I do like to see the pics. In many instances I could agree. However, the benefit of posting shoe pictures is that many of us...

    Porsche Fleece Jacket

Yea that's my concern as well but I like that one jacket, and I like racing, forumla 1 and cars in general: 1. I'm not middle aged but I'm working on getting there 2. ***I'm not out of shape, dress like **** with a baseball cap that makes me look like I put all my money in my car (I think this...

    Porsche Fleece Jacket

I would only wear one of those if I were into racing and got paid for it. The only Porsche item i would purchase would be a car, not any of the accessories. I have a 911, which I have even raced. The stereotype of the Porsche owner is so bad in my opinion that I never have, and never would wear...

    Opinions on these D&G shoes

Does anyone here that prefers the Italian aesthetic think these shoes are worth $675? What I mean by *worth* it involves not just saying well you can get Ferragamo Tramezzas (which are highly regarded for look, fit, and construction) for less on e-bay - keep in mind the styling and very limited...

    J&M Handmades NOT dead ?

JM makes a wholecut? I failed to find that one on-line. Which doesn't mean they don't make one, it just means "I failed to find that one on-line."

    Contentious Statement: 'Sartorial' is blown.

I'm with Huntsman on this one. This thread has 'Creatures under a bridge impressions'. Nah. The Original poster has 630 posts. I think it's just Friday night musings. Wait - is "musings" a pretentious word? For that matter, is "pretentious" a pretentious word? Oh well - perhaps I'll go read...
