    Tyrwhitt trouser fit and quality?

I have several pairs of their winter season chinos (think dark green, dark blue in a slightly heavier cotton) in what IIRC was the slim fit. I have a 32W by size (actually 34"). They fit pretty right at the waste, and have a moderately slim fit. Not baggy for me, but not close hugging either...

Please help critique new custom suit

I dont think most of these replies are that bad?? We are criticising the suit, not the OP. In my experience lurking on this forum, the people who cop it worst are those with only a handful of posts who pop up with a "how does this look" thread... and who have bought their suit from some...

Please help critique new custom suit

Waistcoat is too long and too baggy, doesnt fit well. The ticket pocket is epic ... TF wannabe? The lapels look a lot more restrained, not sure thats a good combination. Shoulders' look a bit big, jacket looks a little long perhaps (though hard to tell without a clear front on picture)...

Name that overpriced designer! Compiling a list of rip-off designers

Most Gucci ... some of the better end suits made to a mainline Zegna quality look OK (at discounted ebay pricing) but its like picking a needle in a hay stack. I found one on ebay from a weird seller whose description was an exact replica of how a much larger more reputable seller does it ...

TOM FORD signature black 3 Piece Classic suit fabric questions -- 55% Mohair, 45% Cashmere

Didn't even notice that, so busy was I trying to play nice.

Made in "Italy" but actually made in China?

I always laugh at the thought of the Chinese status seekers charging the Paris store for their LV bags etc which might have been made in whole or part in a factory in China! (I have no idea what brands or products/tiers within brands might be so manufactured, but I don't doubt for a second...

TOM FORD signature black 3 Piece Classic suit fabric questions -- 55% Mohair, 45% Cashmere

From the great Wiki in the web: Mohair is not a soft yarn, when compared with alpaca or cashmere, or synthetic fibers or wools that have been treated and blended with other fibers to enhance softness. On the other hand, mohair is valued for certain unique characteristics: it is warmer than other...

Made in "Italy" but actually made in China?

Considering your quoting an article from 2007, yes I would say you are behind.

The short suit: has its time come?

Is it April Fools Day? Surely? Surely? No? Aiyah. If the Aussie press has got onto this, the American's on here might have already seen but I wanted to ensure all members of the Forum are properly warned about the latest threat to good taste: The Short Suit...

Which clothing brand impresses the ladies the most?

Here in Singapore the local girls think its fine for guys to just wear a solid black suit (the most common business attire )... also in fashion: stove pipe shorts. I think $$$ and a House always matter more than clothing brands (to the sort of girls who care about such things ... probably not...

Recent Purchases (Classic menswear - formerly Men's clothing)

The other Borrelli I just bought from STF is the same as this and does not have that additional hand work from that older model. It still has a fair degree of hand work and pretty nice fabric, plus a very nice overall cut. I would say for about ~$1,300 US its pretty competitive. I would not pay...

    How do you shop?

I assume the OP means, how do you shop for "classic menswear"? I'd be interested to know how much people here are still buying bricks and mortar to gain the benefit of trying things on and seeing them IRL versus buying online due to the significant discounts? As someone who wants it all and...

    new ties -- passagio

Yes. Personally, that gives me more pause before buying at this price point than the current swirl of questions re vintage etc (about which I am unqualfied to offer an opinion and hence won't). I also find the fabrics, for my taste, are hit and miss. But heck, the ones I like, I really really...

HOF: What Are You Wearing Right Now - Part IV (starting May 2014)

I like 1-2" shorter not exactly the same length ... but as a reasonably short guy (5'7") not always possible with OTR... I have never had to tuck in as it somehow feels wrong to me, but I do have a couple of ties I dont often wear due to length (or at the least cannot wear with a regular FIH knot)

You Sir have made Ronaldo look entirely unattractive. On behalf of regular men everywhere, I thank you.

Its an all-seasons 11oz-ish weight wool, not sure the thread count. And yes its a suit.

Do you buy 2 pairs of pants with every suit?

Its not always (in fact not often) an option with a lot of RTW suits ... If I had the option and it was that cheap I would definitely do it. Remember the jacket is a lot more expensive than the pants in the context of the total price you pay, but if the pants wear through you have a very useless...

    hermes belts

Yes, he is unquestionably a douche and the H is tacky... and Yet, he gets this: So the possibilities are 1) this is due to the compelling power of the "H" or 2) Ronaldo is a football player who makes an f-ing truckload of money and when he took his shirt off after the Champions league win...
