Made in Spain Footwear, including TLB Mallorca, Cobbler Union, Yanko, Norman Vilalta, etc

Hey all, I'm about to buy my first pair of TLB Mallorcas (probably Goya black calf) and just wanted to share my experience so far. So to take the story a little further back, feet size changed in the last couple of years so replacing my captoes. Since I was visiting NYC I thought I would go to...

The Chicago thread - local recommendations, trunk shows, goings-on, etc.

Hey all, is beehive the consensus place for shoe recraft/repair/add-ons? Want to put on some savers on a pair and probably a recraft in the near future. It's always a little hard to tell from reviews. Always up to talk food with everyone. Have done the entire city steak scene lol. Recently went...

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

My suit is vitale barberis canonico super 140 and it was on their low end of prices. I'm not an expert on fabrics so make your own judgments there. I bought it for regular work or other normal suit occasion wear. I have no idea as to the full extent of their other fabrics (they have many more...

She had sheets of button samples to pick from and I picked some more simpler ones since I'm pretty rough on them and didn't want anything too designer. I've got a big weekend and week coming up so I'll try to get some photos up by end of next week.

^^^ Planet Oceans just hit all the right notes for me. They're like my personal white elephant. I can't wear them being a smaller guy because they're so big. The crown just hangs over my wrists but boy do I always give them a longing stare every time I see one.

as long as you pay. I'm seeing more and more of my selling auctions get a flurry of last second snipes and then the buyer bailing on payment. Reselling always seems to fetch an even lower bid than the guy the flaker beat out the last time.

I'm not sure what you're asking me. I assume you want me to describe my fitting? The first time in we talk about the usual fabric, pattern, collar/cuff accents, features, etc. As I mentioned, I was getting a suit and shirts. She scheduled a fitting with me according to how long I was going...

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I dug up the business card. It's in the Peninsula Centre unit G68. When I bought my shirts, it was ~$1200HK for a 3 shirt order. It's more per shirt if you get less than 3 at a time. They can be different patterns of course. She talked about having to raise prices a bit after Chinese New...

I was taking a picture to show some friends and I thought I would share it here. Some of my shirt haul from Collar Seasons. I initially only bought a couple but I found that I was babying them and never wearing them, so I ended up ordering more and now I wear them all the time. It's so...

I wish I can claim credit, but I got the recommendation from my MOM (yikes!) who still lives there year 'round. She's profoundly picky and only uses the best so I went with it. It worked out. Carol is great, nicest lady and extremely hard worker. The 3 shirt bundle price was under $1200HK...

Buying and Selling on eBay: Tips, Tricks, Problems & Questions

You can probably report the item also. Excessive shipping could fall into one of those "catch-all" provisions in ebay rules. I tend to steer clear of those sales regardless of the deal since anyone who would pull something like that likely isn't selling on the up and up.

I feel like Omega does much more advertising, as they sponsor everything under the sun. Strangely enough, I probably see about 10 Rolexes "in the wild" to every 1 Omega. I assume the latter could be what he meant by brand recognition. I'm more Omega guy myself, but that's just because I love...

Good to know. I didn't ask for it they just automatically had one made to fit me the same time as my suit fitting. It was a great experience! Price was good and they had my order done before I left back to the US. Place is Collar Seasons at the Peninsula Centre.

    The Hong Kong Tailors Thread

I just came back from HK a little while ago. I got a suit and a bunch of shirts made at a place in TST East. The shirt fitting was a new experience for me because they made a shirt template for the shirt fitting. Don't know if that's a common thing or not. Their sifu are all in-house and...

The official thrift/discount store bragging thread

staying in aurora or Naperville is a bad idea if you want to do stuff downtown. I suppose you can take the metra back and forth as long as you plan to head back to the burbs before midnight. You'll be stuck in traffic a lot if you're driving and will end up having to pay for parking anyway. I...
